The Puntite, Berber and the so-called Kushitic peoples in the horn proper were all Somalis. Thus, the notion that the first ethnic Somalis appeared in the Horn of Africa as late as the year 550 amid the presence of Kushite and Khoisan inhabitants back in 6000 B.C. is laughable. As for the expansion of the Cushitic, it was made from East Africa to the North and not the other way as you say. Which explains why Egyptians considered Punt as their country of origin. In addition, the origin of the Somalis as starting from the south of present-day Ethiopia is far-fetched. Because how to explain the use of all the tools like the wooden pillow, the shield, the loincloth, the hangol etc which were also used by the egyptians. While you're right about the northward expansion idea, you're incorrect about our origins in Ethiopia. We the come the the southern highlands and northern Kenya and expanded from there. We probably started as many of us are today, herdsmen. We probably moved with our herds of camels, goats, and horses (as evidenced by Oromo and Agaw cushites being known as horsemen). But I also appreciate people knowing about history in our community, so let's learn more if you have any other insights brother.

The biggest mistake in the video is showing that somalies came from the middle of Africa and then expanding to the north (following the darwanian perspective) but acctually it's on the opposite way. They came from the horn first in the puntland area and then spreaded in the middle and originally came from north africa. Cushites are more closley realted to north african and middle eastern than any sub saharan african. Cushites dont have bantus in them bantus migerated into easter african approxmitly 2000 years ago. Oromo migration doesnt determine cushitic genes dont know why you brought that up. Cushites are also not the only africans with eurasian genes. Alot of nilotics and some bantus have it also. That is why some african groups can digret milk while others cant. The way you said things was that cushites are a product of multiple intermixing when in the truth it was only two. Somalis either have a middle eastern maternal or east african maternal ancestor. Those genes stabilized of the course of thousands of years and evolved into our own haplogroups. Perplex Nomad A lot of this video is based on assumption since the area is cruelt understudied. Mosylon was a Roman emporium in 50 AD. Romans were definitely involved in the politics of the region so one can only assume the Byzantines had proxies there to counter Persian influence.
