1946 is better than IL2: BoX in a few ways like better quick mission builder, full mission builder, more interesting planes (though not always accurate modelling or physics). It just allows much more freedom.

not to mention the people who built this actually have aircraft knowledge. I have a friend who is on the "inside" at BoX and he told me none of the developers know a thing about aircraft.

Hey, quick question, I got this game 2 days ago (Because of Fishyyy) Anyways, I was wondering, is there a way to make the big bombers, (Specifically B-17 & B-29) drop their payload? I'm not sure how you can if so, whenever I set a target, the planes just crash themselves into the target and call it a day, I just want to make a mission where you have to stop a whole buncha B-17's with P-51 escorts before they flatten a city, anyways, help is much appreciated!

When a ground target waypoint is an AI's last waypoint - it's a kamikaze waypoint. I have made a lot of realistic b-17 videos, maybe check the mission files of them out.

Fishyyy, I've been wondering Wich motorcannon you prefer, the 20 mm with more ammo ,or the harder hitting 30mm?

30 against bombers, 20 against fighters

@@Fishyyy well that makes sense, except it seems like first your engaging bombers, then the escorts. I'm of the opinion that I would want both. 30mm motorcannon with 20mm internal wing cannons, but that's just me. Luftwaffe designers (Messerschmitt) had other ideas.

The detail is very good. movement is robotic though. Like to have a go though.

The movement is "robotic", because this was filmed from a replay. Considering, that this is filmed of a replay feature of a 17 year old engine, it's pretty good. So, this is no valid criticism. Ypack is downloadable for free and contains the whole game, so you can try this, if you want to. It's illegal to download ypack, if you do not own the game, though.
