Full in depth paladin tank guide (omni) Tarisland

First half of the paladin tank guide complete! I'm sorry it took so long. I had to rerecord it many times. Todays build is based on what I used to overcome the challenge dragon raid day 1. I am currently writing the spreadsheet as I release this video, if it looks incomplete try again a bit later. (writing section takes a lot of effort!) I'm hoping to have challenge spider & elite dragon video both in the next few days. I do my very best to upload at mine once/2 days but dragon raid was a lot of prep time.

Very helpful guide, about p2w. You didn't spend money but your team DPS surely did which is more important.

Yeah I'm sure some of them have. But as this is a paladin guide, not a raiding guide, the point of me being able to tank the boss damage without paying stands. I'm not pulling ppl down for paying for stuff w/e, I just want to point out to those who don't have t3/t4 stuff and feel like that can't tank because they've told again and again they need to be min maxed to stop listening to nonsense. If I can do it they can do it to. I'm sure healer/dps are different but as I don't play them I can't really comment. Side note. I made about 60k gold crafting emblem boxes so I did burn a lot of earned gold, I just didn't buy it (honestly 99% of it went on emblems)

I think it's not that crazy with the p2w. I do hella fine with my f2p barbarian and now I'm pulling a pala f2p, for 110 gear. It's possible as f2p to get good stuff without playing and just from crafts.

@@HyparchosDE It is possible, you just need to roll great stats for gears. But yeah, I'm not really hatin about p2w guys. F2P high end raiding is very achievable once you get those nice stats that you want.

@@VarietyMMOs I'm not hatin about those p2w guys. I mean they are just a big factor when clearing competitive Challenge raids. I too play as a Pala tank build only and this video is really helpful. I went to CD route though instead of Omni. Hard to try omni build since I will need to roll for stats again.

If you were not playing a Paladin tank, what other tank class would you pick? What are your takes on other tanks? I never got a chance to try many of them so have always been curious about people's thoughts. Thanks

I'm working on the warrior and barb now. Personally I'd play warrior but it's an aesthetic thing/play style thing. The barb is so basic it's boring, also it feels clunky compared to other tanks. Will feel better with cd stacked. The warrior feels smooth to play so the enjoyment of clicking buttons is higher than barb. As for which is stronger...I'll reserve my judgement. I've witnessed both barbs & warriors do extremely well *if* the person playing them is good. I hope to have more info on other tanks soon as I am currently unlocking them

really nice video but i would have liked you talk about special perk on the stuff you know the green blue purple perk, which one would be better, if some blue were maybe better than some purple one, or is it only go for purple if you have some.

Originally I did. Before I started cutting the video was almost an hour long so I had to sacrifice some stuff. This info can be easily added to the spreadsheet which ppl should be looking at anyway. I'll try to get some sa info on spreadsheet today

@@VarietyMMOs also not sure from where u get the 1488 omni you have, i think i only miss 2 piece that could roll omni stat on them and i'm currenly a 1060 omni which would put me around 1270 with them ,so either you have lot of 157 omni roll ( mine are at 105 ) or you boost quite a bit the omni in the inscribed stone with run i need to recheck that on your video. ( edit i also have the +50" in the 2 inscribed stone like you for the omni) so i'm still short of 200 omni almost even if i had the 2 omni i missing so you must have a lot of omni +157 i think, could you add the screenshot of your piece of gear in the spreadsheet thx

Having lower that 315 resilience is giving boss a chance to critically slap u for x2 dmg as far as I know. No wonder u had to build in max dmg reduction. So... Why would u run lower than 315 resilience?

A) I didn't do it on purpose. I did it because I couldn't get it b) Res slightly lowers the chance of dragon critting/comboing you. You can can crit/combo icon in death log. Its super rare. Like super super rare but it happens c) Boss is usually double slapping tanks because game thinks they're not together. If I could have gotten that last bit of resilience I would've but I want to make clear how unbelievably rare one die to a crit/combo. I'm talking like 5 deaths having cleared all the challenge raids. ideally you want the number but if you're a bit short you can brute force it

i saw you update the spreadsheet for the omni build, but could your also included the screen of each piece of your gear to see where i could be missing omni stat compared to you, i know i miss 2 item that could roll omni on them but even with these i would not reach the 1488 you have, i'm at 1060 actually, saying if i got the 2 missing i need i would be at 1270 with the low roll, i have the same inscribet stone, i mean for the 2+ 50% omni, so not sure where i could get more, i only see higher proc in stat in gear, that why i would like to check and can't check in game u must be in NA server i think, i'm in EU. Also could you ass also the gems and enchant you use, but i think everyone went with the same in t2 glancing in weapon, and endurance for the blue gems, for the enchant until t2 i don't think there much choice either

I just clear elite dragon and that wing monster hit hard , so i really see how this build have sense , but i invest so much in the cd build , i will try to get a omni gear to , but you clear all challenge you are a better player , you think omni is the right path ? Or will take time to still find the perfect build ?

Plus , You are 100% about potencial emblem? Cause i don't use it for that i just use it for arcane realm.

It's difficult to explain. I just did elite again my self and i cannot over state how different the modes are. On challenge mode you're physically chained to your tank partner and must move dragon all over the map so dps get uptime on boss. A big weakness with paladin is your defences are down when you're not attacking back (1, 2 keys) so when you're walking the dragon around you're as strong as a paper bag. The potential emblem is to help stop the boss 100-0 you with 80k swipes. Challenge boss hits unimaginable hard :l The elite strategy of standing still is better in every way. When moving dragon around the game thinks you're not touching your tank partner and kills you with a double swap so often it drives you mad. As ppl get more gear they'll do more gear so wont need to do all the stuff we did. It was literal hell

i using the shield bash build. but what talents i can remove for flying shield at dungeon content ?

Shield of ardor (lose cd extender/reduce on ardent) Holy regen+ makes heal 20% worse and extends time +20s but shield lowers cd anyway Or take them out of focus as your glancing is high anyway

Damn, i invested so much on getting rid of Omni and it is nowhere to be found on my gear anymore. Everyone kept telling me go CDR.

Nothing wrong with cooldown but people are being sheeple. They've given given some stat weight or some guide that says you must go cd and instead of questioning it, learning, trying other builds they've all copied a cooking cutter basic build that will never make them any better than mediocre. People just want a talent/inscription tree shown so they can copy/paste and click 1,2,3 to victory. it may work in elites but not in challenge mode haha

@@VarietyMMOs Not that easy, if you are new to the game, dont understand the mechanics, and every other tank in the guild that has progressed further yells at you to get CDR and spec a certain way and for proof they show you 50 other tanks all geared the same way. Yet, i progressed a lot, did all the content and learned my class. And that is where is ran into issues with the way the majority skills and equips. I wa trying different things but so far couldnt really fix the issue. That's where i saw your video and i immediately understood your reasoning and where the flaws of going CDR and speccing like everybody elses favorite lies and how you adressed them. It just makes sense. But for me i already hardened every gear piece and used all my ressources to get rid of Omni, so i dont know if i can recover from that. Like you, i dont put in a lot of money so i got to work with what i got. Probably stay with CDR for now, but as soon as i can lay hands on the 110 gear i'll focus on Omni. I think for the next days/weeks ill try to get gear pieces with Omni on them, and when i got 4 or 5 of them i'll switch from CDR to Omni. Wish me luck on rolling Omnis.

@@VarietyMMOs pasa porque el cd sale con más facilidad que el omni, me gasté 2 recompensas de todas las incursiones y las compras de equipos con chapas y moneda de plata y solo obtuve crítico, enfoque, fuerza, enfriamiento y resistencia, lo que me falta de omni, 2-3 piezas nunca pude sacarlas, me tocó cambiarme a cd para rendir :7

I'm gearing up a barbarian but I don't know how effective omni is with barb build yet so I cannot say. I've heard cd is better but I have not been able to confirm it yet. I'm hoping to have barb in raids about a week from now

It *could* apply to any tank. But should it is another question. It revolves around luens which anyone can get so build is freely adaptable but its more about what your cd/omni does for your class. I am working on warrior tank now but I just don't have enough end game raiding experience to give a solid response.

Believe me I know. The main reason I hit a wall on other classes was I couldn't their inscription levels up/complete raids. With new buffs to help clear raids and them fixing inscription levels getting the other classes starts being realistic in a few days.
