From first-hand experience doing installs like this, that is a lot of work involved on this stealth theater. Great job so far! Glad you are showing the step by step of how the installation process is done, so people see what actually goes into a project like this. 👍

Imagine waking up in this home every morning, looking forwards to this installation 👍 maybe have someone hold a nozzle attached to a hover close to the tool cutting the board save dust going everywhere. 👍

Thanks for the comment, we did do that in the bar area but between us, the electricians, drywallers and painters there was a ton of dust. We brought in a cleaning crew half way through and post project to make sure the entire home was dust free. All already existing equipment was covered and dusted with an air compressor multiple times. Stay tuned to see the rest of the series

Hey Zach... Enjoyable install video. I especially enjoyed the use of "background" music & effects you placed in speakers 6 & 7 while filming this install work. The low bass effects 🔉 🔉 were poppin'. I bet not many of your competition consider the influence of using speakers 6&7 when putting together their videos. Very smart young man. 🫡🫡👍🎉🖖🫶 Keep up the unique videologging and effects.🎶🎚🎛📽

Oh, man!!!!!! 😲 That tip at 22 minutes about what to do if you are right up against the side of a stud with the Focal 300s is gold and needs to be highlighted more. 🔥 I just recently installed 3 Focal 300 IW6 LCRs (purchased from DreamMedia during a sweet sale 👍), and it was such a pain in the butt because both my left and right speakers ended up being too close to the stud for those quick spring clip ears to work and I had to notch out the stud a bit at 6 of those clip locations (3 each) - and of course I damaged and a had to touch up a bit of drywall during all that. I really, really wish I knew an about that trick. Awesome and super useful to show that!! Too late for me, but please don’t leave that tip buried in a 10 second segment of this hour long video. 🙏

no worries or apology needed. Just a great tip that I wish was highlighted by Focal somewhere - appreciate you guys doing it. I just know I was wishing the 300s had simple dog ears at the time. 😂 Keep up the great work! Love the videos. Really like the 300s, and I’ll be back to you guys when I look to complete my surround and atmos (probably with Focal 100s). 👍

Thanks for commenting Will. If you're lucky there will be a gap big enough for wires between the drywall. If not I carry an insulation knife(can find at any home improvement store), make 45 degree cuts on either side of the wire location usually .5"'-2" deep depending on the amount of wires. After you have both cuts you can use a flat head, chisel, or anything really so scrape out the middle of the channel you cut. Razor blades work fine too, just a bit more labor intensive. I'll try to make a video just on this the next time it comes up. Thanks for your support.

55:23 did you talk to an engineer about taking out that much material? Those engineered joists/trusses are structural.
@Dreamediaav
@Dreamediaav Күн бұрын
Yes. There is a steel high beam structural support that bears the weight of the wall and subfloor. Thanks for commenting!

Maybe someone with actual experience can chime in but I am pretty sure those are engineers joists with specific requirements when it comes to cutting holes into them….

Good question! The structural integrity of the home was not compromised during this install. This install used best practices similar to when pre wiring new construction homes. If you have further questions feel free to reach out and speak with a specialist! Thanks for commenting!
@dreamediacolorado
@dreamediacolorado Күн бұрын
Those beams are designed for infrastructure to be run through. They even come with precut wire knockouts you use a hammer to open up. During prewires almost every contractor runs their wire or pipes through them. They are super nice for wire running!
@jagrana
@jagrana Күн бұрын
@ not really commenting about the individual knock outs. Talking about the massive one to move the wires and pipes up. If it’s fine that cool but I do know they have specs such as sizes of holes distances from other holes and distances from the edges. /shrug if it’s fine it’s fine

Great job on such a complicated project. I wonder if a Sony AV receiver would be more appropriate for the job since 360 Spatial Sound Mapping is made to work better than the competition in situations where speaker placement is not optimal. I believe it would make the center channel integrate better with the bed layer. Bass management could be assigned to a separate DSP in that case (Dirac is better in that regard but a miniDSP should be able to do the same job)

What’s the best projector I can get under 1000$ (used)? I found a used jvc rs500 for 900 or a used rs400 for 600 but I preferably want a smaller sized projector
@Dreamediaav
@Dreamediaav Күн бұрын
The RS500 was a great unit during its time! We also have the epson 4050 which is a little higher price point but you would have a 3 year warranty and peace of mind. Call our specialist with any questions. Thanks for commenting!

You guys install anything else other than Focal?
@Dreamediaav
@Dreamediaav Күн бұрын
Yes we do! We offer all the industry leading manufacturers such as Perlisten, RBH, and Meyer Sound speakers for high end cinema. We also offer entry level products like Sonos that are very simple and DIY friendly. Focal is definitely a well rounded brand that Dreamedia offers and has incredible solutions for the entire home as well as home theater which is why it’s featured in our videos so frequently. It’s a crowd favorite! Thanks for comments and call our specialist with any questions!

Yes we do offer more high end subwoofer options such as the PERLISTEN, RBH, and Meyer Sound offerings but the homeowner is extremely happy with the bass performance which is all that matters to Dreamedia. The homeowners have not owned a home theater before and is absolutely blown away by this package. Thanks for commenting!
