This train is started on 1 Oct 1925 and was name as Kathiawad Express after which the name is changed to Saurashtra Mail.
The train provide daily service to people of Saurashtra region for Mumbai.
This train is also provide direct connectivity to Dwarka in it's reverse run from Mumbai.
Previously this train was slip train. The coaches of Veraval Junction- Mumbai Central link to this train at Rajkot Junction.
