Thanks for sharing this trip! I watched Ben's videos on it earlier, and the 2 together give me plenty of information for my own run. The only concern I have is, I ride a TW200. While I've had the gears altered so she's a little faster on pavement, but they're pretty much high speed (I live near Leavenworth, so I know how people drive around here), Don't have any qualms about the little farm bike being able to handle the ruts-it probably won't even know they're there!

I use a small tube of Goop. It's great for cleaning yer hands after working on the bike AND it works great as tire lube. I hear hand sanitizer, which works great to sanitize yer hands and great for starting fires, works as a tire lube as well.

I like the edit. You’ve got flow. How many days were y’all out there. Would you plan more or less time if life wasn’t calling you in other directions?
@ExploreAdventureMoto Жыл бұрын
All told it was 6 days, that includes the first travel day. If someone was really rippin, the route “could” be done in 3 days fairly easy I’d think. but WHEN I do it again I’ll likely take 6-7 days again. There are some things I didn’t stop to see and take pics that I wish I had. I’d rather err on the side of too much time and take my time riding to really enjoy the scenery.
@craigmccue28412 жыл бұрын
I say the nay sayers and put downers can screw off. If you complete the route then you complete the route and it doesn't matter how you do it. People complete the TAT but not everyone does it in one singular trip and some take bypasses for good reason but they still complete it. I haven't done any of the BDR routes yet but I have ridden a couple of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Routes, one I completed one in a single multi day trip and another was broken up over two weekends. That's the way it goes. It was still a blast.

I don’t think any of those comments are meant maliciously, just poking fun. Just have to be careful what is said when folks are trying to get into the sport and they may get the wrong idea.

Some people say if you walk part of a marathon you didn’t actually run a marathon. I think that’s stupid. I’ve run many races much farther than a marathon and just finishing without injury is a feat. If you have to ride one section at a time because you have a life you still accomplished it. I would even say that’s more difficult. You have to take care of family first.
