@@EZBOT_ yeah Alex brought me along. I had no idea what to expect as it was a last-minute invite. I was pleased to hear something original, but still comparable to some other artists I'm familiar with. I mentioned to Alex that I really enjoyed the part at 29:06, and it reminds me a lot of "You Got Me" by Scuba and also makes me think of "Fumes" be El Huervo.

@@Buildingempires101 no sir, just something I wrote on the piano and later programmed into my Digitone. The bass line might feel familiar but its because its so common to use chromatic half steps as basslines. regardless that is quite a nice compliment :)

Great set! I've struggled to find a role with my Octatrack. Do you find it useful mostly as a mixer for live use and to use scenes as transitions? It seems like that is the role you're using it for here and that many people do. Studio-wise, it is a powerful sound shaping tool but I find I get more done with my digitakt, digitone and analog four.

Very nice performance and also very inspiring for someone like me who's just starting to make music. I have two questions if you don't mind: - Do you have the arrangement all in your head or do you have it written somewhere nearby? How much do you improvise? - I only have a DN so far and cannot decide whether I should get a DT or OT next (leaning towards DT). What do you think? Keep it up. Oh and I totally dig your

Hahah, that label gets me some attention! It's my fast reset if I get too weird! So the way I make these tracks is by creating systems. They all have similar elements. It's not the sound elements but the system in which I move through the songs. I improvise as much as I can, the better the system the more flexible I am to improvise. I try to keep all certain types/feeling/volume of sounds on specific tracks and use re-sampling as much as I can to make weird remixes of the song on the fly. I always have a vocal element, I always change the BPM, and I try to take risks and change things as much as I can. That way I can make my songs feel much longer than just 1-2 patterns.

Great stuff man! I've been considering the VT4 for creating vocal samples as well. How do you value it? Currently I use the the OT for all kinds of vocal fx.

I think the VT-4 is fun and easy but not comprehensive. I would recommend a more substantial vocoder if you're wanting vocoded sounds. Like the boutique vocoder. VP-03 I think it's called
