is the randomization function also available on digitone 1?
@krazywabbit9 сағат бұрын
Why would anyone hate anyone’s workflow. Crazy. Thank you for your perspective on the Deluge. Massive fan that we don’t have to use every single function a piece of gear offers. The manual doesn’t say you have to. Stay safe.

Would be nice if you bring in one of the Deluge Wizards, like you did for other instruments, and do a proper live stream/episode on all features of Deluge. And you can pick up some stuff along the way

This is a pretty neat way to fit the Deluge into an existing setup. I alternate between an MPC and a Deluge for sequencing, the MPC's great for orchestrating a ton of gear and doing more formal tracks with fixed patterns while the Deluge really invites experimentation and generative music. As for breaking out of a loop, I take pretty much the same approach you recommended for an Elektron box, take a clip and make a copy that you tweak. With the community firmware's Grid View each track has its own column so it's quick to flip between variations of one track while keeping the drums or bass for consistency.

Agree that it makes an excellent 'second' box or 'support device' rather than a main brain. The fact that it can do just about anything makes it perfect for filling in whaever is missing from the rest of your setup. But, as a primary device it becomes too easy to bump into the CPU limit, which is why I love it as a 'hole filler' Whatever is missing from your setup, there is a good chance the Deluge will plug that hole

Hi @EZBOT_ i know it’s not the subject but I can’t find a way to chain two songs recorded in the project. I would like to be able to create a song in song 1 with for example pattern 1 + 2 then another with pattern 3 + 4 in song 2 then read them in succession without having to put everything in 1 song because I have my live which I want in 1 song so I have 200 rows programmed and I think there must be a better method because for example if I want to replace the second song of the live by the 4 em and put the second in 4 I will have to copying it is not logical in my opinion. Thanks .😅

“Ducking”… so that’s what it’s called! I’ve been working on a Synthwave or Chillwave track. Ducking at 1, 5, 9 and 13 along with the kick and snare is a signature of the genre. I couldn’t figure out the exact settings on the Digitakt frequency Mod so I made it on my DAW using a customs cutoff filter envelope. I’ve never seen it done before just figured out it’s just a filter closing with the beats….learned a lot from this … the track you made SLAPS!

I missed the full one but this was great! Inspired me to want to mess with resampling full tracks I scrapped in the DT2. It can't do as much as the OT in that department but would still be plenty fun.

Love your videos, guides and walkthoughs. Maybe there's another solution but I watch on my phone so I zoom in on the digitone to follow but the screen is fuzzy so sometimes it's a little hard to follow precisely what you're doing. If you were zoomed in on the digitone at the expense of aesthetics, it would be a big improvement (for me lol). Or have a magnified version of the screen. Thanks you!!!! Literally 2 seconds later in the vid you move the octa and zoom in lol...

Yeah, this is the reason I watch your stuff... Excellent vid, really puts things into perspective, fun comes first! Annnnd I'm sure that like 98% of people watching this vid sampled your LaCrois slurp... Just got back from work, so I'll probably do it later... They still don't let me bring my Octatrack to work... how unreasonable...

The problem with resampling on the Elektron boxes (MPC as well) vs say OP-1, SP404 and some others is that you constantly have to save the resample to the device. This always stopped me from resampling on Elektron boxes. I don’t want to save 5,6, 7 iterations of a sound to the device, and have to think about how to name it, etc… too time consuming. I really which Elektron would implement like a sample purgatory where I can store something there until the machine is turned off and in the meantime can resample a million times until I have something I like and want to save
@hexwavemusicКүн бұрын
I agree, this would be awesome and would encourage a lot of people to experiment! That step of saving and naming something, even though you can button through it fast and use random names, does kinda throw some rocks in the gears.

I got an SP404 Mk2 to run alongside my Elektron boxes. Totally agree about improving the workflow by not having to stop and save all the time. It’s liberating!

I have to agree, that these little boxes (I own the Deluge) allow you to "touch" the music. They are more limited than the DAW, of course, but you can sketch things so quickly and easy, distraction free and the result is more than good enough!

Yeah maaaaan I love the break that was added and the direction this went. This whole process genuinely looks so damn fun. Every time you mention mouse and keyboard fatigue I feel a little less crazy haha. I wonder what it is exactly about that experience that so many people don't like. It's as much a physical discomfort as it is a mentally/emotionally detached experience for me personally.

Thanks a lot dude, I really appreciated hearing that bit about not always being here. Great reminder to stay present and enjoy yourself. We are very lucky to have the privilege to enjoy these bits of gear and time to play with them. Ps. I traded in some extra drums to get the DT2 and its so awesome. Loving the improvements. I will keep the DT1 cause its still dope and will be a classic box. Might actually dual wield DT’s with the OT lol Cheers
