I don’t know what it is but many athletes look more older & a bit worn than in previous strongman shows. I suppose the hard training & injuries take their toll sometimes more than years would suggest. They are none the less amazing individuals. Mad respect to them all.

This deadlift was potentially a bit harder then last year. the height of it and awkwardness makes it harder/ different the a regular deadlift. Evan Singleton was not prepared for just how different this is to other bars nor was Tom

I think they had some of the events dialed up a bit much. I know the novelty of strong man is odd/unwieldly implements, but here we have some of the strongest men on the planet unable to get more than 1-2 reps if even that. Fans like to see competition and scoring. Really lack luster when half the field is unable to execute the event.
@Kragatar Жыл бұрын
The problem with this event is that you can't see the weight. Something like the hummer tire deadlift is more exciting to watch because you can see the big heavy objects and the bar bending under the weight. With this apparatus, it just looks like they're pulling on an oddly stubborn stick.

I wonder if there's a reason they didn't just make a hinged gate for the entry to that apparatus. Needing two people there to lift the barrier on and off for each athlete is old school in an inefficient way.

Athletes not able to get a single rep is not a good look. Rogue should lower the weight a bit or make the bar less wobbly. A middle ground between last year and this year would be good. Amazing implement nonetheless.

Agreed, takes away a lot of the entertainment value as well.
@abdullahyusof4739 Жыл бұрын
If you have a weight that’s so light to the point where the top 5 are just repping it out and going upwards of 12 reps, it doesn’t have the effect on the audience of who the strongest is. Maxime and Mateusz are just known for being really poor deadlifters.
@--SPQR-- Жыл бұрын
@@abdullahyusof4739 I'm sure you'll agree there's a middle ground.
@abdullahyusof4739 Жыл бұрын
@@--SPQR-- oh certainly. I feel like the weight they’ve picked is just right since it clearly separates all the athletes. But I can definitely agree that the stability of the implement needs a bit of work though
@liamengram6326 Жыл бұрын
@@abdullahyusof4739There is a middle ground. It's right here. There's plenty of events where people get 0 reps. 2 out of 10 not getting a single rep shows just how strong on the deadlift the 4 guys who got 6 or more are. An event for reps isn't heavy enough if the top guys start hitting double digits. This isn't crossfit.

I love the deadlift its my best and favourite lift but this one looks awful the way the bar shakes around im not its very worrying for there backs them trying to stabilize making me squeamish thinking dont do anything serious damage i think they need to change this to a different form of deadlift in my opinion
