Such a great event and get so much unnecessary hate because athletes made bad choices on weights and tacky. On the Shawstrength podcast Mitch talks about how all of the stones were perfect and everyone complaining they were “too smooth” were completely wrong. With that being said I would love to see a stone for reps event similar to the WSM stone off where we get to see who can do 400 or maybe 450 for the most reps. Would be an epic showdown between Thor and Tom for sure

Absolutely agree! Great event, heavy stones! And Mitch and Thor absolutely proofed, that it was possible - If you are strong as hell!!
@soarin5814Күн бұрын
I agree. It all comes to strength. However there are differences in the stones. A fresh 450lb/200kg smooth stone is just different to a used 450lb/200kg stone or a rougher stone. Probably could be compared to making a deadlift PR on a bar with no gnarling vs a bar with gnarling.

It's great to see Thor back in Strongman. In time, the strongest man on earth will become the best strongman competition. According to the athletes, it may already be the best. Because Brian Shaw loves the sport. His dedication and preparation, along with his team's help, will fix any issues going further.

Thor is incredible. He turned up over a decade ago and had SO MUCH potential but was just wild and emotional and made so many mistakes! Over the years watching him mature and train himself into what he became breathed new intrest into the sport for me. Part of me is sad that he quit to fight Eddie but hey - he got paid and Eddie did need to be taught some respect. I wonder what Thor could have done had he not taken those 3 years out during his absolute prime...

24:40 .... SERIOUSLY Terry? The ONLY guy in "toms league" of stone lifting is BRIAN? Ever heard of Thor Bjornsson? Thor is King Of The Stones, and Tom was merely acting regeant until Thors return.

Thats why Magnus - when pressed by Loz in his "Talking Strongman" series a few years back - also said that Thors 501 was illegitimate because it wasn't done in competition. Scared to lose his presidgious and highly paid role as a referee at GL and WSM gigs... The fact that politics even enters into this sport is a joke. Like a bunch of school kids angry that someone doesn't want to be in their gang. Thor should stay as far away from anything to do with GL or WSM as he can, especially after the secret recordings of the Stoltmans discussing the cheating and helping etc. Basically proving that everything Thor said was true, everything that we suspected was true, despite the sick amount of slander and defamation that Official Strongman and GL put on Thor (to this day).

Going toward the end of any strongman event has inherent advantages which is part of the reward for winning the previous event. This has been the case for every atlas stone event in history
