Interesting event but so many issues with the broadcast unfortunately. 1st: Camera angles - Why have head to head events when we got to see only one person at the time? 2nd: Sound - Hearing what is going on at the comp is such an important part of the show. It did not feel visceral as we did not hear the implements moving, athletes grunting etc. 3rd: No graphics - It should be fairly easy to add basic graphics: points totals after events, how many reps athlete has done currently, timer.

1. Let us hear the athletes grunting, supporting each other (Come on Tom!) and weights hitting the floor 2. Show both athletes during head to head events 3. Figure out best camera angles beforehand. Angles on the flag event were horrible in the beginning, with camera panning to the weights and we would have no idea how the athlete was pulling throughout the pole 4. Add more info to the screen. Weights, times, points, athlete names 5. For god’s sake don’t add rules just to disregard them later. Don’t include random people scrambling to setup in the middle of the timed event. 6. Whoever thought putting little foam squares together for the dumbbell press event would be a good cushion, fire him.

They did a count back on his time, overall placings didn't change.

Very impresive performances from iranian guys

yeah they were both impressive and held their own more than adequately with the "big" names

The should've just laid out 5 different axels with each corresponding weight, like the log medley last year's WSM.
@sethticer51083 жыл бұрын
They could’ve yeah. The idea was inspired by Trey Mitchell’s WUS feat of strength 400kg deadlift for reps where no one was able to come help him so he loaded all his own weights while being on a strict time schedule. Didn’t seem like they told the athletes though that they actually wouldn’t have to load their own weights

Yes i agree. A deadlift ladder is how they should have gone.
@dunstonmunson83142 жыл бұрын
@@sethticer5108 I remember that. Ol' country boy Trey loading up his own weights. Thats the stuff that champions are made of.

Look, I think the stream for the shaw classic was better, however .... finally a stream for a world strongman competition... there's things to iron out but.. Not bad

I really want to see a rogue only show put on by rogue, with good production quality like the CrossFit games but for strongman, while still having guys like Loz commentating and strongman refs

Thanks very much for streaming this, wouldn’t have ever been able to see it otherwise 👍🏻😁 Where’s Colin Bryce then? He’s usually commentating at most strongman events? Loz was brilliant though

I'm 6'3 95kg . I'm often one of the largest people in a room. It's crazy for me to think that there is someone twice my size and in shape like Tom Stoltman. I'm up to the 3rd event. Think Tom's height really disadvantaged him in the first and 3rd events. He also didn't use gloves in the 2nd event. Really unfortunate.

The Shaw Classic is by far the best test for true strongman strength out of all these competitions. Including WSM. Arnold is still pretty good. Really hope the Shaw Classic blows up and gets really popular.
