You need it for timed events accurately otherwise on the other end you'll all call it controversial for not having one.
@joshuacarroll70462 ай бұрын
@ strongman events have never had any kind of buzzer; you load the last stone and the judge stops the clock, or you cross the line and the judge stops the clock etc. even here the buzzer isn't stopping the clock, they hit the buzzer and then the judge still stops his clock just the same

I like the buzzer because it ensures everyone’s time is accurately recorded across the same system. The classical way is to have 5 people with stopwatches, but that introduces so much variance.

The yoke needs to be heavier. Basically a sprint for some guys which makes the event go by too fast and doesn’t put the emphasis on strength. Other than that, pretty sweet.

@@Cain353 Truth hurts. Strongman rarely attract elite athletes because elite athletes that size have much better options for making money, so when you finally get one good athlete, this is what happens. Don't forget both Shaw and Bjornsson were pro ballers who couldn't make it in the big leagues before transitioning to strongman. There are plenty of athletes in NFL and NBA who would crush Hooper had they focused on strongman, but why would they when they're making tens of millions in other sports.

So many children complaining about buzzers and high speed events. You guys are acting like any of the CrossFit athletes could just walk out and do the same weights these guys are doing. @ wow, rock solid argument from this guy right here 😂. Call it rubbish and call it a day. Really convincing. Funnily enough, the only people complaining about the button are fans and athletes who WERE NOT THERE. According to people who were behind the scenes, none of the active participants were complaining about the buzzer and didn’t have any major problems with it. Plus in the grand scheme of things, it didn’t cost anyone points on either the men’s or the women’s side. It’s a very defendable argument if you actually use your brain and aren’t too busy whining about it like a little baby.
@jlim94112 ай бұрын
@@xshayahyawzi3666 you missed the entire point of the powerlifting remark. One of the things that makes strongman unique is that all competitions are the different and are never run the same way as the others. It’s up to the organizers and promoters to decide how and which events are run and it’s the athlete’s responsibility to understand the rules and adapt. I used powerlifting as an example because everyone is complaining about things being different at the rogue invitational, so they should probably stop watching strongman and go watch a strength sport where everything is regulated down to the finest detail and every meet is the same, with the same rules every time.
