I think FZD was feeling a bit of burnout or not as motivated after Ma Long passed his prime, (when he started to beat him more often), but now that Wang Chiquin started to catch up with his level, FZD’s motivation is back and he was able to go all-in and showed his true power in this match, I think.

Wang Chuqin's topspin to topspin is better and he is faster with the attacks. That's why Fan was playing close to the net touch shots so much so he wouldn't be able to attack that much and waited for the right time to strike. This completely messed up Wang's game. Very interesting to see Fan not be that aggressive when usually you'd see him be a powerhouse and obliterate everyone with just his power. But he is so careful with Wang.

Wang, was in my eyes at least, at the last point afraid to play, he visibly went to defence quickly with safe shots, playing not to win but to not lose; like he was afraid he would do an unforced error if he played offensively. A player in his position with this exact score (being behind so many points) _shouldn't_ let himself be distracted by the score and lose his usual 'force' and 'game'. A player in such case doesn't have anything to lose, it is one point so you should play with your best possible quality if you are to be defeated. He did a great comeback though so *+respect* for that.

WCQ - when i watch him i can't tell you what his super strength is, e.g. its not like watching FZD you can feel the power! But he didnt get to #1 for no reason. Being LH obviously helps, but he seems to be relaxed all the time and rarely makes unforced mistakes.
