I was there at the stadium, watching the game. Apart from this R Chauhan's timely six, the most enjoyable and fascinating thing for me was Ganguly's attacking batting. I was sitting behind one of those Shell hoardings and every time Ganguly hit a four, the ball struck the metal sheet hoarding so hard that the sound of the impact was terrific. I still remember that and I thoroughly enjoyed this innings of his.

There was a huge shift from this moment that you have mentioned onwards. The Miandad Six psychologically messed with us whenever we played Pak in Sharjah for years! 😂😂😂i remember having seen games where Sachin was the only scorer and the rest of our batsmen buckled up! I have even seen games where he scored hundreds and yet we lost! However all that changed only only post this match! And the highlight came only in the 2003 World Cup when Sachin smashed Shoaib over 3rd Man for 6! That ended everything if we remember! The truth was that there was a time India had a very good batting line up but no contributions would happen when Nessesarry. At one time Pakistan had the best bowling attack in the world! They could go through the best batsmens defences. However there were also days when their bowling flopped big time! To say that these matches were memorabe is an Understatement! 👍👍👍

Robin Singh was a great player who played in the wrong era. Had he been 5 years younger, he would've been tremendous in the early 2000s team under Dada. Top fielder, good hitter lower down the order and a reliable change bowler as well.

remember those days when I was in class 9th , azzar gave captaincy to tendulkar although tendulkar was not comfortable in captaincy he sumhow handled it . mohanty made his debut through this tournament kurvila was a old player from Bombay managed to keep on off in team . but robin Singh did wonders for the team in those days & lastly chauhans six saved this match from loosing . chauhan became a unsung hero in coming years time . love u rajesh chauhan bhai

Great upload bro.. This is a classic contest.. Match really steered to pak favour after two brilliant fielding effort which resulted two important runout of azharuddin and kambli.. But India played really nice.. Hats off to sourav ganguly playing brilliantly to the pak pace attack..

Sachin is the example that its not necessary that a great batsmen can be a great captain also. He lost so many matches primary because he didn't understand the bowlers. Same Mohanty devastated Pakistan in Toranto under Saurav Gaungly.

Robin Singh had hit one six and that six was repeatedly shown the was thst was hit. The bat just remained towards ground but ball went tiwards long off for a dix.Thst was the power of his shot.He was the inspiration for the fielders also .

For some reason, this match wasn't live on DoorDarshan & we didn't had Cable TV in 1997. I remember me & my uncle hearing Live Commentry on Radio. There was so much noise in the stadium & despite that we came to know that six was hit by Rajesh Chauhan !! Amazing feeling it was.. Beating Pak in Pak
