Satsuki Odo does so many things well. She has one of, if not the best kick serve in the game: 4:16 . Her receive game is also excellent. Here is a great read of Ito's serve and BH flick to the FH: 4:56 6:30 . And look at the precision of her placement: 20:27 ... Arguably Japan's 3rd best player at the moment.

She honestly reminds me a lot of younger Ito with a great service game and a power shot on the forehand that can surprise her opponents, but also a tricky backhand that doesn't always rely on power. She just lacks the experience playing higher level players as she was beaten pretty badly by Batra at the Asian Championships.

Well played Satsuki Odo. Based on this year's form, it's fair to say that she deserves Ito's place in the National team.

Ito was particularly in shape during this tournament. She had perfectly taked revenge against Pavade before. But without her mother to coaching her, she was not able to anticipate an efficient personal strategy against surprising young players trying to trick her game. I think her mother dependance as a coach really disturbed her individual performance to adapt herself on any situations, like that. She is trying to, but this is not enough to come back to the top. If only she had the dynamism of the Lebrun on this tournament, she would be able to won the trophee, because they was just 1 chinese player left. Even Felix Lebrun had suceed to create an efficient personal strategy to trick and beat his older brother without a coach, because he have the strong ambition to win. He was also inspired about her game against Pavade and Alexis by Satsuki tricks on this match for their brother dual in quaterfinals.

Poor Mima, she was feeling good here at Montpellier in the beginning at the tournament with her birthday, she tried to take the opportunity to win the trophee, but she's not even strong individually without her mother. I think she is Mima's problem, the daughter is to dependant of the mom, and looks like she have some possessive way on her life, following her everywhere she goes and taking the decisions in her career, since her youth. Mima should take some distance with her and take her own decisions if she want to grew and renewing her game, if she really want. Congratulations to Satsuki to have won the competition, she really deserved it with her mental and performance since a lot of competitions 🏆🏓 And of course, congratulations to Felix Lebrun !! 🎉🏓🏆
