It is hard to believe professional level players would ever agree to play under these conditions. How does one think about strategy between points? If this were universally done, I would never watch table tennis again with the volume up. It's really a shame that this is allowed at all. Have reporters ever asked players how they feel about having to play under these conditions? If so, what do they generally say?

Isn't there some audience condition code/law to restrict this noise? I support all below on this issue!

Did I hear that correctly? They used the PA to lead the chants for the home club's player? That doesn't seem fair to me, and is not something I've heard before. The home club already has the advantage of the favorable audience, that seems like it's going too far.

Truls' coach/teammates should protest this annoyance

Great game , but I had to watch it with the sound off. those drummers should be fed to the lions.

Yes allow drums in a table tennis audience. I would have imediately left the venue.

These commenters must be new to European style TT. The noise is ridiculous but it's a long-standing league tradition and the players are used to it.
