Her confession is probably the cutest one in the game as well, IMO. Because she blurts out her true feelings for the MC in heat of the moment, then turns beet red once she realizes that she just said that with the object of her affection standing right next to her. We wanted a mommy, and we got a waifu at the same time. Mitsuru fans won on this one.

I went with the Yukari route since it’s considered that she’s the canon romance. But I give credits to the writers for this game, since every girl feels like I could romance them if I wasn’t aiming for Yukari. They are written well with great personality.

there's one good reason to go with Yukari in reload. Her personality was improved massively with a new voice act, and she isn't super sassy and annoying anymore. She's a much better pick than Fes and Persona 3 first release.

With the addition of the letter subplot, Mitsuru is one of the most improved characters in terms of writing/characterization from the OG to Reload. Really cool character with a take interesting take of generational guilt. Also cliche but always true, Clark did a phenomenal job with the character.

You know, even if you don't take the full romance route with her (remaining friends in the end), it's mindblowing how the MC changed her in such a good way. The temptation to stick to her destiny with an easy route, and then refusing that destiny to stand as an individual instead despite this being far more difficult. That's really inspiring. I'm glad she was able to shape in her own way the Kirijo group later on after the game. And all that, despite her father passing away in the same year and the Kirijo being in turmoil. She is a very strong-willed character.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NOTE! I have to add this if anyone is planing to romance Mitsuru. This mistake will make me replay several hours of the game and NO ONE is talking about it!!! I was so confused and angry. Lucky I had a save somewhere before everything. I EVENTUALLY found out what I did wrong at rank 7 to 8 DO NOT say “it’s not meant to be”. That will force you down the platonic route whether you like it or not and NOTHING in the game warns you and practically no guides are including it. I got so furious over it!!! I realize it’s kinda obvious you should not say that, but I pushed it on accident and thought nothing of it because nothing warned me. I just hope other people see this and they don’t make the same mistake as me and stress over it like I did. When rank 9 came around she invited me to her room instead of the roof and it was so unfortunately platonic and confusing.

I liked Mitsuru at the beginning for the design and mommy vibe. Then seeing her quirky side then the respect for MC. I didn’t know I could like her even more than I already did. Just DONT say “it was not meant to be” at rank 7. No one talks about it and the game doesn’t warn you, but that ruins the romance path and starts an entirely different platonic path in rank 9 and 10. That mistake confused the crap out of me and almost caused me to have a heart attack. No one talks about it so I was struggling to figure out what I did wrong on the web. I now have to replay a few hours of the game.
