Full on Double Tillage-ALL THE WAY, Special Thanks to John Deere and Wildman Farms for giving us the opportunity to demo a 2660VT and 2680H the vertical tillage tool and high speed disk. It was an excellent opportunity to compare the two units side by side. We go to see how well the 8RX 410 pulled the large tillage equipment.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

That's one thing I like about farmers, one of many things. You guys all seem to be on the same team, trying to grow food trying to keep the crops from going under and trying to work together to make the best product you can. Other fields like Construction I can tell you for a fact , I can't get five people who were in my trade agree on the time of day, let alone work with each other for any great length of time, LOL !

I like how you share your equipment perks with the neighbors. It's great to see what they think as well as see their farms . Here in michigan we have planted all but 150 acres of wet areas. This spring we have planted 5200 acres between our land and custom work. Now it's hay season and cattle working and spraying time . Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !

i wonder if anyone remembers John Deere back in the 1940's/ Oop's, yes I'm that old;) My grandpa had a beast of a John Deere for pulling power. The two cylinder engine was amazingly powerful for its day. The exhaust gave it a signature throaty sound. pop, pop, pop, pop, POP, pop, pop. pop, POP etc. I always heard John Deere tractor's called Popping Johnny's because of that unique sound. But Oh it could be a beast to start. On the left side of the engine was a large, heavy cast iron flywheel that was 24"-28" diameter as I recall. To start the engine you had to rotate that flywheel by hand until the piston came to the top of the compression stroke. Then brace your legs on the ground and pull hard across the top of the flywheel in a counter clockwise rotation. You had to do this again and again because it was not easy to get started. It would wear a man out just trying to start it. But once the engine was running with its popping sound, and you pushed the clutch stick forward. You were rewarded with some right satisfying pulling power. Those were great days for a kid growing up on a farm. Thanks Zach and family for rekindling fond memories from long ago.

Im new to the farming perspective. I have spent my whole life in Illinois and have like tractors and combines since i can remember. We don’t have a family farm sadly, but as I am now learning from your videos and getting to see how awesome your job is I really wish we still did. My great grandpa farmed up until the 70s or 80s raising crops cows pigs and chickens. Really wish we would’ve kept at least some part of his operation going. He is in his early 80’s now and still kickin. He originally had well over 2000-3000 acres of land (not all arable) back then, but over the years has sold it off and is down to 600 acres with most being woodland and the rest contracted to one of the big farm families in our area. Love your videos and im watching every one of them now. Love your operation and that deere is giving you the opportunity to show us whats new and helping you unilaterally. Keep up the content and keep bleeding green baby. #godeere

It is a good job you have such large fields in your part of the USA that are relatively flat so that you are able to "exercise" such large equipment or indeed move it about easily from field! Here in the UK average arable field size is probably little more than 25 acres and nowadays hedge or tree removal is effectively banned for ecology reasons and any equipment wider than 8.5 ft needs special arrangements to made for each and every move on public roads.

Zack I’m telling ya I would love to have the chance to come out that way and get you to show me how big farming works. The farm that I managed was just 100 acres and the largest tractor that we ran was the old Allis-Chalmaers 6060. Shoot when we would rake hay we used a CA Allis-Chalmers that is a 1957 model. I’ve went back and watched your videos sense I’ve lived down here in Florida and wished I was back in the Captain’s Chair of that old 6060 working ground. Hi Zach, beautiful equipment with awesome results. Hard to believe there is a good return-on-investment, however, with such expensive equipment. You should do a series of videos (short and long depending on the subject) like the one you did previously about the grain bin set up with lots of detail, just going over stuff like the trueset and other technical details or whatever people want to know (one subject per video) and make a playlist for it. Then, anytime you mention it in a video, or when people who ask about that subject in the comments that havent heard it before in a previous video, or people who just find that stuff cool and wanna hear all about the finest details could be referred to that playlist of videos. I'd watch those in a heartbeat.
