Dendrobium cuthbertsonii is also a favorite of mine. I have several species and only one hybrid but hopefully I can find more hybrids this year. Love your videos keep up the great work!

Thank you for your kind words! I always admired cuthbertsonii's but never thought I would be able to grow them without a cool growing setup. I am surprised at how well they adapt to intermediate conditions and can say I am amazed at how much light they tolerate or should I say desire! I have a list of both several species and several hybrids that I am hoping to get my hands on over the next year or so as well. They can be so tough to find though! Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Happy growing!

Best one by far, so so many little beauties, awesome simply awesome orchids these are. I think you are right with the hybrid Lepanthes, it looks like the flower that is on what is supposed to be a species of mine, like it though so it can stay. My helicocephala that was surviving on a single growth from Ecuagenera keeled over and dropped its last growth, lord knows where I can get a decent one of those from. It is simply adorable. You can never, ever have too many Dendrobium cuthbertsonii Bobby, they are amazing little orchids, be they species or hybrids. You do know that that hybrid you have has a registered name now don’t you. If you can’t find it I will look it up on the Orchid Wiz database that I have. It is strange really that they do so well in the tank as cuthbertsonii is supposed to much prefer a completely wet then dry cycle and it likes to dry out quickly as well. You must have brilliant air movement in that tank. Cannot wait to see that tank of yours full to bursting. Take care my friend and stay safe. I just adore that tank.

Thank you as always for your kind words! The tank is certainly my pride and joy. I’m eager to fill it so I have a better reason to expand! I agree, you can never have too many cuthbertsonii (or lepanthes!). They are both just the perfect size to hoard! 😝 I’m sorry to hear about your helicocephala... thst truly is a shame. I do hope you are able to find another some day or I’m going to have to figure out how to smuggle you a division. Most of my Lepanthes are due to have their moss freshened up this spring, they really do appreciate fresh media yearly. So interesting about cuthbertsonii snd it’s wet/dry cycle being from where it’s from, isn’t it? I often wonder how many orchids in cultivation grow require such a cycle when you see them soaked in nature 24/7. I know the difference is living host/media/environmental but it’s still remarkable to me. I am going to try a project soon using some sort of inorganic mount and trying to propagate live moss cultures directly to it to see how it does with long term root and plant health. It’s something that truly has me wondering for certain Genus/species that would prefer to never be disturbed. Having that said. They do get pretty great airflow in the tank. The higher section has the most air exchange and movement due to the little computer fans and the intake fans location. The tank overall has a great air cycling effect and the environment inside is much easier to control, except humidity, which in my case is a great thing. I do hope you are able to set up a tank of some sort someday.... the difference a fee percent humidity makes in the true montane growers is absolutely phenomenal. I hope all is well! Have a great weekend. Eager to leave work and go home to watch your newest 2 videos!! Stay safe!

Awesome part 2, the telapagonaflora is on the list for a while already and the calediction will be too, together with some cuthbertsoniis 😁 In your intro video am i right that i see Dendrobium loddigesii blooms? If so, i got that one too, wanna do another carecollab? Stay safe and happy growing my friend

I do have a loddigesii! Its the variegated form but the species nonetheless..... I say lets do it! I will shoot you an e-mail this week and we can figure out the details! Mine is a nice little plant but it needs a remounting badly. Could be the perfect opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone!

Definitely my favorite too the Lepanthes Telipogoniflora! Both mine are hanging off my orchid shelves. I do keep my humidity near them 80-85% Haven't had them that long. As you know doing great! 😁 How many years you owned that plant?

I am so happy yours are doing well! I still remember your first bloom! I have had mine for almost 3 years now and it is really in stride.... 7 blooms open today and more coming soon! Thank you for watching, I always love seeing your name pop up in the comments! :)

Thank you so much for watching! They can be really difficult to get ahold of sometimes, your best bet is online. Look for a seller with good reviews and you should have better luck. I hope this helps, happy growing!

"the blooms are much much larger" umm, that's like saying "this bacteria is much much larger, it is 3 micrometers" 😉 🤣 How many cuthbertsonii are you adding this year? I think three. It's the magic number.
@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore4 жыл бұрын
LMFAO..... I know it doesn't look like it but they are about double the size! Hard to see without the microscope though, I suppose! 3 eh? I would add 30 if they fit!!! I am looking at around 5 but its going to depend on availability. They can be so tough to get ahold of sometimes. Top of my list is Lynn's little dimorphic hybrid followed very closely by a yellow species. The Lepanthes list is ungodly long but I am actively seeking around 12 more this next year but again..... finding them is always the tough part.

@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore mountain orchids used to sell a lot of cuthbertsonii and its hybrids but I think they got out of that. You could look at Golden Gate Orchids but, beware, they have what you are looking for.

@@lynnsmith9397 I was trying to be practical. He has to save room for others. I've got some baby Zygopetalum maxillare and he'll need a space for one in the tank someday (if I can grow them out, never done Zygos from flask before)
