What a crazy start of the video with all the masting techniques. And here I am, paying like a sucker a lot of money to the marina just to lift it up real quick, bring her down, have me put on two screws and then put it back in......

Pulling the mast over to the pontoon! WOW that was really something. And meeting some of your competitors. My Friday was hard, this video lifted my spirits. Thank you Hugo for taking us along on this ride :-)

Damn! Why didn’t I think of pulling my boat over to work on the mast head, looks like it would be so much easier for those who don’t like heights!

OK, you rent a boat and then you drill holes inside the hull. I'm not gonna let you borrow my motorbike !!! Thumb's up anyway, another great episode to enjoy just before the start of the Vendée Globe.

Im guessing he discussed It with the owner, but im still wondering whether there was no easier way to do it (rewire through the mast, or find a wireless solution).

Hello from Hamburg, Germany. Throughout the lockdown(s) I have been discovering a lot of KZbin channels about different ways of travelling and seeing the world. (Well, different than what I usually do. ) I have found a love of sailing videos and now watch many sailing channels, (including yours). Markus, (my partner in crime), grew up in a sailing family and has thousands of hours at sea, but even though we have been together for 15 years now, I have NEVER been on a sailboat! I hope to change that in 2021 if the situation in the world allows it. :-)

Great video, really interesting technique for getting to the top of the mast!
@svchineeljunk-riggedschoon40384 жыл бұрын
For a Junk-Rig the book I have suggests fixing an A-frame to each beam, and lifting it out that way. My mast has about 2 meters bury, with the COG being about 3m above deck, so it wouldn't have to be a huge construction, although I didn't try it yet.
@paulcollins93974 жыл бұрын
I used an A-frame to do the Chicago-Mobile section of the Great Loop, singlehanded. Easy! (The A-frame, that is.) It’ll be bigger than you thought, & must be rigged bomb-proof.

почему мини "круглая" а imoca 60 " острая" ??
@TheSailingFrenchman5 ай бұрын
The IMOCAs are restricted by their box rule; that's why their scow bow isn't as extreme as the mini, but if you compare the Imoca bow from the past 6/8 years and the ones before, you'll see a clear evolution
