This is a good machine , I noticed someone in the comment mention about keeping the Live Tools at active position before opening , Totally agree with him , The same thing was said to me as well you Risk damaging a part known as "Tang" used to keep the live tools alignment. Besides this I before starting the program do a "manual" interference check which involves indexing all tools to their Maximum Z Limits , Y Limits and Minimum X Limits , this pre check ensure focus is completely on Process. That Turret configuration is Very well equipped. Great Video 🌸🌸

This is correct, though the damage is done to the tang 'guide ring' inside the turret.

BMT systems seems to have different requirements per manufacture? Hardinge doesn't want live tool changes occurring on active positions.

cool video! clean workspace. respect for that. The only thing i want to say is at 4:09 you hamer the nut loose. Maybe this machine can handle that? With the machines i know you will damage the centerplate for the live tooling and i dont think you livetool like you at that moment. The machines i know you have to put the livetool in the "freerun" mode so you can turn it manually. Than you use 2 wrenches to undo the nut.

Just like to give credit where it's due, you have this machine well figured out👍. Millturn certainly isn't easy and most don't appreciate the complexity of the average setup required to make decent parts - it's all in the details and being meticulous. Also who drove the long tool into the left side wall above spindle 1😉?.

I was a cnc programmer and process engineer for 28yrs. I love this machine. The set-up guy really knows his stuff! I would love to see an independent tool axis for the RH spindle. We used 2 machines per man and tho this is Slick, too much time wasted for 2nd side waiting.

Its pretty slow but in this machines case its down to the amount of tools loaded in the tool management page, the more tools in place the longer it takes to switch between screen. Very frustrating.

cool vid, i'll trade you a tip for a tip. how do you save and execute your mdi programs that i saw you using? your tip - you can rapid jog with the probe arm down if you simultaneously hit rapid and the direction. document how many teeth the sub jaws are outset if you haven't already, jaw teeth repeat jobs are a big time sink if no one says what they were at last run.

Hello, on main spindle you have a collet system do you ever put a Chuck on it ? Easy to change over ? I’ve seen hainbuch do chucks that mount in the collets which I guess would be a considerable time saving.
@PBMachineTechLtd2 жыл бұрын
We have the option to run a chuck adaptor but isnt something we have ever done. This is a full time collet & bar machine. I cant speak for how the change over works for the chuck interface but swapping collets its only a few seconds work

hello! what is the option that allows you to use the correctors fron tool 1212 to 0180? i have the same machine and i can only use 12 tools
@PBMachineTechLtd5 ай бұрын
We use the Tool Management screen to control all out tools. All tool calls looke like this : "T1299" or "T5599" 55 refers to the offset and the offset is assigned to a turret station on the tool management screen. I would have thought you should be able to operate with assigning different offset numbers to the tool numbers, T0125 etc.

Just stick with the Allen key when tightening up turret bolts. There is absolutely no need for anything longer than that.
@PBMachineTechLtd2 жыл бұрын
Firmly disagree on that. Have seen tool holders in long running machines come lose with vibration over time that have been fully torqued up.
@rogerbean3932 жыл бұрын
Is there a torque setting for those turret mounting Allen bolts ? Very organised, everything to hand.

just started on the nlx with celos and mitsubishi . I'm having a really difficult time setting up the tool library in the machine . Thus i fill out the tool info page every time for every operation . Normally it should be a one click , and maybe feed and speed change . I could not find any significant help .
@PBMachineTechLtd7 ай бұрын
Its pretty time consuming but you need to create your full tool library for the tool managment. Once its complete you can call any tool up then by searching its offset number
@kisspeteristvan7 ай бұрын
@@PBMachineTechLtd in the meantime i found that out and learned it , but to load the turret with tools is another story , and the machine doesnt even care . The tool data in the vps program has to be good , but the turret informations are totally irrelevant , just the X Z tool lenght offset.

Great video. Just a little notice. When releasing collets from live tool holders, don't do it on any position. Move the holder to the active position, jog the live motor and then use the special tool that stops the collet from moving, provided from WTO. If the holder and turret is in working position, you will not damage the internal spindle brake. If it is out of working position, you are putting too much force to the, let's say, circular T-slot that lines up the holders and keep them in position during tool indexing. At least, that is what the technicians said when the installed this machine (1250YS) to my shop. PS. the horsepower of the subspindle is lame, don't you agree?
@PBMachineTechLtd2 жыл бұрын
That is interesting because we have been told the opposite by machine suppliers. We never open a driven tool in the working position to avoid damaging the drive gear for the tool. Im familiar with the tool WTO and other use to lock the tool in position when changing, its very useful. These particular type of tools don't have that function unfortunately. We always do the most of our heavy machining on the main spindle so the power on the sub spindle hasnt been an issue for this kind of work
@Tresoroeffnung Жыл бұрын

I programme and operate an older NT5400DCG, if you've used the old Mori contols, how does the CELOS feel compared to it? We have Mazaks with smooth control etc but I find myself still preferring the older operating systems and buttons rather than touch screen?
@PROJECTFAP Жыл бұрын
Running and setup NLX2500 and NLX4000 pre CELOS controller as daily basis, very solid machine, CAPPS is awesome, TBH i'm going to be lost for real with CELOS, in my opinion with physical buttons give better control over the machine.
@PBMachineTechLtd Жыл бұрын
I was of the same opinion at the start but you get used to it. Running off a piece isnt affected, manually programming is a bit frustrating - need to keep checking your key stroke was input
