Loved these full power takeoffs, hearing the engines roaring then reduce thrust is very satisfying.

Absolutely amazing! I've never heard a CFM being pushed to the absolute max like this, and it sounds absolutely AMAZING. Would love to fly out of BUR someday to experience that.

BUR takeoffs are fun due to the shorter runways. I've flown that departure on Southwest probably 100 times.

Great hum and seeing DTLA in the haze in the background while banking to the North and East. Good, clear view of The Valley and then the desolation one-hundred and fifty plus miles out from the second largest city.

Love hearing how the engine is reduced power and then slowly starts throttling up again in the sky. I assume that's due to noise regulation codes?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about noise abatement rules out of BUR. It could have just been the way ATC was routing the flight. It is cool to hear, regardless! Thanks for watching my friend!
@ysfsim3 жыл бұрын
the reduction is the setting for climb thrust which is less power than need on the takeoff roll.

Great fly! What is your top favorite and worst airlines of this year (2021)? And why?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
Well, I've said before, and it remains the same. Alaska Airlines is the best US carrier right now, IMO. I flew them quite a bit in 2021. I flew mainline Alaska 18 times this year, and didn't even have a single delay. Their staff and onboard product are great as well. Excluding the airlines I didn't fly at all in 2021 that I'm typically not a fan of like Spirit, or Allegiant, I actually had more problems with Delta than anyone else. Which is surprising, because Delta is often listed as the "best" US legacy carrier. I had quite a few, lengthy, mechanical delays on Delta this year, among other issues. I don't know that I'd call them the "worst" but they definitely had a down year for me.

Who comes up with these random airline names. What the heck is Avelo? Where did they come from, why do they exist? 😒
@sla313 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, there is actually a reason why Avelo was chosen for this airline. Avelo is a mix between the Spanish word Ave and Latin word Velo. Ave means bird in Spanish and Velo means swift in Latin. So Avelo could be seen as "Swift Bird." I mean, that wouldn't be an inaccurate description hahaha.
