@@rockerkunal glad to have your answer! The ATR is quite a machine to fly. I liked it too much. But now I'm flying v5 (the ATR I was using was for v4) and the new MSFS2020. I hope to see the ATR soon in those 2 sims (and affordable of course). If you get a chance, come to see my channel. Quite new, but very good stuff for flight simming. Btw, the flight I did using your tips was: SBSP SBRJ... and it was very cool. Thank you!

Couple more things mate...1. Why do you not turn the windshield heating 'on' as per the chk list? and 2. Why do you do the Anti Skid test as part of the preliminary cockpit prep proc
@rockerkunal5 жыл бұрын
Hey there, thank you for commenting! 1) the CB/gear pins. I actually completely forgot to video that, it happens just before you sit down. I understand the mistake 2) the windshield heating for us was in the fleet notice for us as to keep it off until we have AC wild. I did not understand it as it's not powered to begin with. However the engineering team directed us to do so 3) I looked up the antiskid and I learnt something thank you for pointing that out! Cheers and happy landings!

Is the ATR 72-500 cabin pressurized? How come I have never seen on inflight safety demonstration. Only for seatbelts and the vests
@JoseDanielFSX4 жыл бұрын
Correct me if I'mm wrong as I am not a pilot. I'm 100% sure it is pressurized (I'm a regular ATR flyer) however as it usually flies at "breathable" altitudes most models aren't equiped with oxygen masks.

Great preflight cockpit check demonstration. Wanted to ask if the ATR42-500 would have a similar cockpit setup and if not what would be different cockpit-wise? Thanks. Wishing you Blue Skies! Cheers!
@rockerkunal5 жыл бұрын
Hey Craig, the 42 has exactly the same preparation. The visible difference is that the 42 has 3 flap settings which are 15, 25 and 35 compared to the 72 which has only 15 and 30. The other differences are just performance and procedural differences due to the flap settings. Cheers!

Is there no Autofeather alarm with CRC when you do ATPCS test on ATR-500?
@rockerkunal4 жыл бұрын
No there is not on the -500, not sure about the -600
@cruxader274 жыл бұрын
@@rockerkunalOh I see. I do fly the 600, never flown -500. In ATR600 There is CRC, Autofeather and Eng Flameout warning when you do ATPCS test. BTW Can I ask, how do you know if you have autofeather in case of Eng Flameout on takeoff on ATR500?
@rockerkunal4 жыл бұрын
@@cruxader27 if the ATPCS is operative, the ARM light would go off, you'd get uptrim on the working engine and the Np I believe would reduce to 0%. I think the only way to know if it feathered would be with the Np gauge.

I see a green light thats only half lit at 2:31. Also the fuel pump off light at 3:37. At 6:00 there are many more lights with a defective half. That means no redundancy in case the other half fails right? Lol and radios and ADC with problems! This plane is riddled with issues??
@rockerkunal4 жыл бұрын
Hey psy0rz, the lights are fine. We can have them replaced if both bulbs are fused. There are plenty of redundancies, CAP message etc if the system fails and we can isolate the problem even if the light is fused. Almost all planes in the world have some failures at some point but they still fly, there's special procedures where we can dispatch planes with defects or inoperable systems. Try to look up ADD (acceptable aircraft defects) and MEL (minimum equipment list) If we started grounding planes just because of half fused lights, there wouldn't be any planes flying around today

Dumb question. Why does the ADC differ between days??
@rockerkunal Жыл бұрын
It's a way to have equal utilisation of both ADCs so that we can discover any failures within the system, the same as we use different starter the same way and also the transponder. Use 1 for odd dates, 2 for even dates. For eg, on the 2nd September we'll use ADC 2, ATC 2, and starter B

There are a bunch of bulbs burnt out on many of the switches, your going to break that roller blind being ruff like that. It’s called a Symbol Generator not a signal generator. Your supposed to check the Brake Temp by pressing the switch on the RH maintenance panel. The “switching” as you call them are Audio control panels.

Hey John Creedon, this was a tutorial video, of course it doesn't take 20+ minutes to do the preliminary. It takes me around the time you said to do it all in line operations. This was not overkill, this tutorial was done by the book, anything else and you're going out of ATR procedure. Also this was for first start. You can watch the transit checks video I made for in-between sectors which takes the preliminary around 30s to do. Hope this cleared it up for you
