@@KG-kq9tk It’s 100% true. Private establishments cannot create laws, they can make rules. If you carry in a store that says no guns, they can ask you to leave (if they find out), if you refuse, then they call the cops and you can get a trespass charge. But no charge for breaking their rule. Schools, banks and federal buildings are different, there is a law that says no. But stores and malls and theaters are just rules, not laws. Most people are inclined to follow rules just to go along with societal norms. I’ll risk getting banned in order to be armed because bad shit can happen anywhere.

I've been told (but nothing confirmed) that the Mad Butcher is a gun-free store. Arkansas has no law against carrying into a gun-free zone except for court rooms, but most people abide by gun-free zone signs, which has now proven to be a deadly practice. I carry in gun-free zones every day because I know that I'll likely be the only line of defense if something were to pop off. As a retired pilot, my motto is "I keep myself safe, the laws don't."

Arkansas State Police are some of the best in the nation. As a retired fed, I respect this organization greatly. Same for the state of Arkansas, now one of the best governors in the country, and she's still a rookie! Might leave my third gen roots in Socialist Oregon, and go be a Razorback, in a state where common sense still exists. RIP for those killed by this twisted evil monster. Capital murders.

How many rounds can even the most mediocre shot get off in 3 minutes with a 12 gauge pump? Many dozens? A hundred? A concealed carry citizen or off duty cop could’ve stopped such senseless slaughter before the first tube was emptied. It only takes a single shotgun discharge, especially without ear protection, to alert everyone within a block’s vicinity that a serious defense-of-life situation is popping off. The more we the people lock ourselves into a 911 mentality, the worse these crimes will get. I pray the peace that passes understanding for all victims and their survivors. And the cops too

Exactly You are responsible for your own life. Supreme Court precedence says cops aren’t required to do it. In 2005's Castle Rock v. Gonzales, a woman sued the police for failing to protect her from her husband after he violated a restraining order and abducted and deleted their three children. Justices said the police had no such duty. Most recently, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit upheld a lower court ruling that police could not be held liable for failing to protect students in the 2018 incident that claimed 17 lives at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
