The biggest benefit of raytracing from the technical side is that if it ever becomes the standard it will eliminate like 75% of what actually has always been the bottleneck in gamedev, texture loading and unloading for all the shadows, AO and reflections in the game.

To run something native 4k at 120 with rtx you need a 4080/4090 which costs 1.5k and above. 60 fps for gta is absolutely fine. Any story mode is fine.120 fps is for cod. 700 is expensive for a console, actually double price considering is digital but I used to spend more than 1-2k for a good spec pc. Money I didn’t have. 16tf is much more realistic for $800 but it’s funny how a lot of people were saying it was going to be 33tf lol. So this consoles will just have some shiner graphics. I had a ps4 pro last gen and the difference was minuscule at best on the majority of the games. The only thing this console has going for it if the AI feature, will see if Sony makes decent use of it(highly doubt it).

I’ve always said Ray Tracing is the biggest jump in fidelity from last gen. I was hoping the base ps5 would be as capable at what the pro is doing for Ray tracing. That said, I’m all for the Pro. Plus I’ll get better value trading in for ps6 eventually. Should also help with psvr2 titles hopefully- can’t wait to see what GT7 will do it already looks beautiful

Even games made for the Xbox like star field and Indiana Jones are leaked to be running quite a lot better on PS. They literally changed the tagline that is an irrefutable piece of evidence haha. It's a very easily googleable fact that Xbox is hemorrhaging money at the minute haha. The tens of billions they spent would take decades to earn back from Xbox revenue. They definitely made a good chunk of change from cod but it'll be a whole generation or more before it even comes close to paying itself back. As I've said though I'm saying his as an Xbox fan, I really want Xbox to go back to the 360 days otherwise playstation will get a load worse, competition makes everyone try harder. Xbox definitely runs old gen games better like 360 games and stuff like that but i wouldnt buy the next gen to play 2 gen ago games, i can still play those on my 360 and get full nostalgia. Next gen games are very clearly proven to run better on ps5 9/10 times. Even games built for the xbox like starfield and indiana jones are reportedly running noticeably better on ps5, the fact they had to change the tagline is evidence enough. More recently there have been a couple devs who've released games earlier on Ps and said the xbox version will come later because they're struggling to get it to work properly on the xbox. If the majority of what they're shooting for is 60fps, it doesn't really need one. The 7700k is a an 8yr old cpu, 4 core, weaker than the one in the PS5, and it will still hit an average of 60fps in most modern games

You'll be able to download upgrades after it gets released to patch the minor issues. That should sort the CPU. I remember on the PS4 Pro there were lots of patches. So it's definitely coming

Think the new CPU has twice the cache though. Not sure if that is an essential upgrade or just something due the production synergies. It also has a wider memory bus and higher boost frequency. Some of which may be more because of inceaesed cooling an efficiency of course. In any case, I'm sure many studios will still find a way to make 30FPS the only option.😺

@@HumanTank12 hahaha yeah most people have no clue what there talking about when it comes to building a PC...you are way better off taking the money you have for the pro, saving an extra couple of hundred bucks and building a really nice pc...right now you can easily build a mid to high end pc for a little over a thousand bucks and it will fkn blow the pro out of the water...the pro is 800 bucks with tax, save anouth 400 bucks and build a dope PC....oh and you can upgrade it as you want....you can get a 4070 super, which is head and shoulders better than the pro its not even comparable, you can get it for around 600 bucks...a good motherboard for around 250-300, a good AM5 cpu for around 250-300, ram for around 70 bucks, 80 bucks for a psu, and finally a case for around 125 bucks...and honestly thats a very good pc...you can spend around 1000 bucks no problem if you want to go with like an am4 and maybe like a 3060ti gpu (still better than the pro) ...you just have to know what your doing man ...

I use WiFi 7 for wireless VR, WiFI 7 = your speed is as fast as plugged in. For instance things like SF6/MK1 online can now be played on wireless without worry or people complaining your on WiFi. Edit: As long as you also have a WiFi 7 router of course….and you need the router within 10 feet of your device for that plugged in like speed. I have my router right in the middle of the two rooms i game in which works out good.

Even GTA 5 lowers visual settings, runs at lower resolution, and removes rt reflections (shadows only) on the PS5 version. Even with RT removed entirely in Performance Mode, settings are still lowered to get a bit higher res at 60 fps. I would be shocked if GTA had RT on console at launch in a meaningful way. Shit I’ll be shocked if it even runs at 60 fps without massive visual downgrades, if at all.

@yungfella666 no actually I'm an Xbox fan or should say was more in the camp of Xbox. The series X may have better features and upgrades for back compatible titles. But let's face facts here only the hardcore like me care about that. Plus fps boost us only a selection of titles. The Pro will be doing this to all ps4 titles. I'm definitely more and more in the camp of PlayStation. Microsoft has not released anything worth having over the ps5 offerings. Nothing! The Pro and PS5 as a whole are now more important for backwards compatibility in the future. These PS5 Pro enhanced games will look and run better on a PS6 eventually. Meanwhile Series X games will not be getting these upgrades. Ps5 is better for your gamse and how they look and run then anything Microsoft has. No quick resume does nothing in place of this. My Series X is now on the back burner. PS5 Pro is the new standard.

Alan Wake 2 is a demanding title on PC, so ray tracing being available at 30fps is understandable. Check out benchmarks of a 4090 running the game at max settings and RT at 4K, you’ll see the performance, it struggles

Just finished Silent Hill 2 and the FPS were all over the place, same when I finished Space Marine 2. I only play on performance, 30fps is a must No for me. If the pro fails maintaining games at least 53-60FPS then it’s a waste of money at least for me.

Bought mine on Amazon for £140 a momth for the next 5 months, still £700 but more digestable, crazy how people think its too expensive but buy £900 phones every year or so, for what youre getting with the pro the price is fair, and, if you adjust for inflation, the PS3 was just as expensove and I got tuat day 1 too.

Tbh, the pricetag of the PS5 pro is whatever to me...sure on the higher side, but well it is what it is. What pisses me of are mainly 2 things. I doesnt come with a drive(and the extradrive cant be found anywhere and the scalpers want $300 for it). The secon thing are the delusional fanbosy, who yell it from the roofs(lke they did with the ps4, ps4 pro ps5 and nr ps5 pro), that it will be this 4k 120 fps mchine withtechnology, which competes with a $5k PC....which is BS.

It's roughly equal to a mid level PC. The biggest problem is the CPU. There's a lot of cope that the PS5 Pro will run GTA 6 at more than 30 FPS which is just not feasible.
