Amazing. When I was a child, everything about the ride was taken off the back of the lorry. Even the Waltzer had a separate pay-box that was pulled along in the wake of the vehicle and the rest of the ride was stacked between two different lorries. You still see them at some fair-grounds. The old Cyclone was similar to this ride here, but it didn't have floor-plates. You stepped out of the car directly onto the grass. The central column of the old ride had to be winched onto or off the back of a lorry. It was the first thing they would do when they began the build. Modern rides are built as part of the lorry. The old paratrooper was my favourite ride. When I was a child I wished I could buy scale model assembly kits of all of the rides. Sets that could be assembled and dis-assembled like the real thing. Maybe bumper sets that would contain a floor lay out plan of a town park too. And that such sets came with a variety of vehicles which replicated the real thing. Of course there was Meccano, but even they didn't make specific fair ground kits. You had to buy individual pieces from a variety of different accessory sets. My total lack of engineering awareness made it impossible to assemble these into anything that came close to an actual fairground ride. Maybe I needed a book of instructions.

@@ForeverFunfairsUK2520 Yes I thought the same the boss and staff were going at some rate to get that ride pulled down, always envious of the rides that were a quick pull down back in the day whilst i was still grafting on the Sobema Matterhorn, Pollard Coaster and build up dodgems oh and the arcade too.
