Noticing a lot of these "restoration" videos all start out with a mud covered object. Never seen it that way in any projects I've found. I guess "mud covered" must be the new "barn find" dust.

I’ve been rebuilding bikes for years . I honestly don’t understand the need to cover everything in mud and then work on it without cleaning anything first . I know the worse it looks in the thumbnail the more views it gets , but this is getting annoying for people who know how to do this work , and enjoy watching others do it as well . It comes across as disingenuous. I can see you are actually doing the work , why exaggerate it ?

A full restoration of the bike with no rust on the screws, no collapse on the seat, no dents on the tank, and clean tires.

Exactly, the Honda was okay, so he covered it with mud. That's why he didn't cleaned it before restauration.

Then put 4 lbs of putty on the tank. Needs a cheap welder. Woulda fixed it right like everything else was done

Nice job on that 77 middle nice to see somebody loves these little hondas I've done several currently working on a 72 cl100 and next is a 74 xl125 just got done with a 72 sl70 got one more it well be my last 74xl70 love all the old hondas.

My friend taught me how to ride a moterbike he started me of on his simpaon 50 and i use to ride that bike up and down big hill on a dirt bike field it was small but fast no idea what happend to that bike but it was cool we just used it on dirk bike tracks ide love to get my hanfs on another 1 but i carnt find them anywhere now

It is discouraging to watch this video when he could have just power washed off the mud he smeared on it and revealed it was really not as deteriorated as implying. As another commented...it's really disingenuous to try to deceive others by falsely making it look worse than it is. This is also NOT a "barn find". People are misidentifying things using that term.
