Looks like it has the specs of a riot with the 998 turbo and Yamaha clutching.

Beautiful sled, I'd take a yamaha over all other 4 stroke sleds and also most 2 strokes. Reliability never seen before but also really high power and torque to pull you outta deep snow. Awesome review

@bradyanderson68404 жыл бұрын
@Don Olypopper Sounds like you don't know where the market is going. You lost me at "My sled wouldn't start under 50 degrees" I'm sorry to inform you this but all sleds are sub 0 rated and if that's cats fault your ignorant. Cat gave Yamaha a new chassis to try and save them from that... well.... whatever they had before and that's it. Motor is Yamaha. Clutching is Yamaha. Electronics and ignition systems are again all Yamaha
@bradyanderson68404 жыл бұрын
@Don Olypopper You want me to believe that it's a Yamaha motor but not a Yamaha ignition system? Listen, the amount of R and D that went into making the motor fit in the cat's chassis while still maintaining a good weight center and suspension geometry were largely carried out by cat. The only thing Cat provided was its chassis. This was a new and untested snowmobile from Yamaha and was branded as such. Theese snowmobiles kick the ass off if anything they race and are well respected in the snowmobile industry

It's an Arctic Cat Riot chassis with a Yamaha engine. Looks amazing

@TheGoldenChild Arctic Cat builds the chassis and Yamaha builds the engine.

No worries , it is 200+ HP. It’s amazing that Yamaha can create an off trail that can do this with that engine! Crazy!!

You mentioned there are trade offs while off trail regarding the weight of the sidewinder motor. Can you go into more detail on those trade offs? I sold my 2021 sidewinder ltx and snow checked a 2022 switchback 850 (not being delivers til Feb). How does the sidewinder xtx compare to something like a 850 SBA off trail?

By the look of the frame and the digital gauge which are both identical to my 2015 Arctic Cat XF7000, I assume Yamaha and Arctic Cat still share technologies and components. Anyone knows if this will continue now that Arctic Cat is owned by Textron?
@sheddski64154 жыл бұрын
being in a partnership with arctic cat might be the only reason they are still in business with snowmobiles why haven,t they come out with there own chassi i think there only producing engines ?? you must admit yamaha sledds do look cool in their own scheme
@douglasborgaro6801 Жыл бұрын
@Sheddski You’ve got to go with those who can do it better. Partnerships can make you a winner. Yamaha does engines better than anyone in the snowmobile world, but Cat does the chassis better.

Can you email Yamaha for me and tell them we need a Yamaha built 850 triple cylinder 2 stroke and fresh Yamaha design chassis, I have a new sidewinder and I love it but I also had a SX Viper and loved it. An 850 triple could boost Yamaha sales and competition

It depends on how you ride the 4 stroke turbo is perfect for lake running and hill climbing but May lack a little In the trees and right corners. Also for someones that needs a sled that has a reliable engine yamaha is perfect.

This would outlast 2 polaris snowmobiles,from an engine standpoint anyway.
