We don’t need bigger 600’s the Polaris 650 has no class for XC racing or SX. Why would manufacturers want to make a 600 for racing and a bigger 600 class sled for trail. That alone will make sleds more expensive more R&D more money. The 600 class should of just stay 600. Polaris still makes the 600 XCR thats the motor that should of been in this comparison. Other than the 50cc difference i thought this was a great comparison. Not that ST didn’t mention the 50cc advantage i just didn’t like the idea of a ski doo 670. Would it be cool sure it would is it going to help keeps costs down probably not.

In the late 90’s & 2000’s , P.S.I. Was taking 700 Liberty motors , and turned them into 890’s making 180 hp , and the 800 Liberty was turned into a 920 , making 190 hp , in the old days

I think it's time they focus on reliability, we've done enough tech for now. Now they need to get back to greaseabke bearings. Not havjng fuel tank issues, ensuring clutches and belt hold up better. Making sure every engine can hit 15k km before needed a rebuilt. If the season bejng short we need affordable reliable machines.

Exactly, the industry needs to build Reliable, simple, entry level machines with less fancy features.. that come in under 10k Im not sure why they can't figure that out.. Yamaha just left instead of trying.. (textron) Arctic cat quit because they couldn't or didn't want to try Its mind blowing

@ It's not going to happen. If you want to be a motorsports enthusiast you need to have disposable income or play in the used market. Some of my buddies run older machines and pull wrenches and some can afford new iron. It's always been this way!
@LiamG903
@LiamG903 2 сағат бұрын
@@jayfxdx the thing is the market dictates, just like other other things they will adapt to what people want. Right now dealerships on sitting a huge stock piles of machines and can't discount them enough for people to buy them. I just bought a 2023 new assault boost for 13k Canadian lol. 16k-17k for high end and 12-14k for your lower end is where the market stands. Less snow crappy winters means they have to adapt. 25-30 years can barely afford to live they aren't buying a 30k machine for two months of riding

I have a 22 mach Z, i love the smart shox, the system works great, we are looking towards the 26 model year sleds being revealed soon, im really surprised skidoo hasn't put smart shox on the enduro model yet, to me it seems like a no brainer, high mileage sled should have the most versatile suspension system, i want to get my wife into a sled with smart shox but she doesn't need a turbo R or a 850...

When you own one of these it's more of a lifestyle than an accessory. You install it in the back of your truck and that's where it stays until you sell your truck. You are 100% correct. It's just like hauling them down the road on an open trailer especially if you run the big roads.

How did you fail to mention price? The Doo is $905 less than the Polaris and $1685 less than the Cat (in Canada). That’s not an insignificant amount. Next up it’s time for the true entry level sled comparo - Doo MXZ 600 EFI vs Polaris 550 Indy Sport vs Cat ZR 400… and the Doo is the cheapest of those by a bunch! I actually think Ski-Doo needs something between the 600EFI and 600Etec in terms of price because it’s such a big gap… maybe like the old MXZx 550 fans but with the 600EFI

Problem is, those other sleds you listed, dont sell. No one buys them so whats the point in comparing them. If price was as big a concern some commenters here suggest, MFGs would have no trouble selling low cost stuff and have lots of big iron sitting around. But the truth is the complete opposite.

I love my 650 VR1, but I can’t deny this thing rattles and buzzes all day almost to the point of exhaustion. It’s too bad that some of the greatest engineering is offset by scrimping on NVH refinement. Now, if I can just get pundits to stop mix and matching front suspension and rear suspension reviews… that’d be great because we can’t mix and matching on the sleds. You can’t do that on cars, motorcycles, watercraft… I don’t know how that makes sense. Thankfully, manufacturers are making improvements almost every year. Engineering marvels, these things, and they’re all fun and plenty fast.
