Full Review: Talon Grips PRO & Granulate

I put some talon grips on what is now my wife’s g43 almost 6 years ago. Carried it for almost 4 years of that and then gave it to my wife. The grips haven’t peeled, moved or anything for that matter. Definitely worth the $20

Talon Grips are fantastic imo. Depending on use, duty, edc, comp. - there is something for everyone. The new Pro versions are my new favs. Pew Pew on.

Just put some Talon Grips on my Gillette Labs Heated Razor. At first I had trouble getting them to stick on the very small diameter handle but a little heat from a hair dryer and they become one with the handle. I went with the most aggressive texture and they work great.

I have installed several on Glocks. The cuts are perfect. Install is straight-forward. I only advise that one should thoroughly clean handgun grip before applying. Also, use a heat gun. Thank you for the review!

Have Talons on my G26/19...ordered for the 42. strangely had to cut and trim the hell out of it to make it fit. had to slice into 3 pieces and apply each piece individually. that being said, still love them.

I have Lonewolf Timberwolf framea on all my glocks which i love and after looking at their website I saw that they actually make some for those frames! Thats aweaome. Thought ibwas going to have to get some for a double stack 1911 and midify a little.

I have use these for years, but only the rubber and the sandpaper. Recently picked up a 365 XL and the grip factory actually is pretty abrasive while carrying. So I looked into buying rubber grip realize they had a pro version now. Is it less abrasive 365 factory grip?

Maybe slightly more abrasive, more textured in certain areas. Will likely wear down some after more use.

Just ordered the Pro’s for my G45. I’ve had rubber on my CCW and texture for duty. I love the grip of the textured, but it tears up clothes (long sleeve shirts) and other stuff. I’ve since switched to the rubber on most my guns. I’m hoping this is a great compromise between the two.

Been a few months. I love the Pros, much better than granulate for a number of reasons. It’s aggressive, but doesn’t tear up clothes and skin.

Put one on my Glock 41, and put a pro grip is on my 17. Made a huge Difference with the 17. Haven't shot my 41 since I've installed it.

I like the granulate for edc, I just take a coin or old wrench and scratch off the sand on the left side of the grip where it rests against my skin during carry👍

The granulate is definitely aggressive against skin. Super grippy though.

My last PRO grips lasted about 2 years before I replaced them. They were pretty worn. Still got new PROs though.

How often do you practice with the pro version? I have seen the grit fall off just after 2 months of daily use.

I EDC the Pro grips on my G19, definitely what I practice the most with. I’ve had them for almost 3 years and they are starting to wear a lot around the thumb side of the grip. Probably due for replacement this year but still a good amount of grit left all things considered.

Will the talon grip still work with a magwell?

Matt, they should still work just fine. If there is a little overlap with the magwell you can just use a sharp utility knife to trim around the excess areas to adjust the fit. I actually did the same on mine to cut out for the half moon shape at the front of some Glock grips. Works just fine.

I love the talon grips they are better than handle it and while stipple last longer you still can't replace to brand new like these grips talon grips are the better of the other makers in the game thanks man peace .

Wondering...when the grip is removed (for whatever reason), is the factory grip surface left with a layer of sticky stuff....would the factory grip need to be cleaned with a solvent so that the pistol may be used once again with the original grip surface? Thanks for the thorough review.

Can’t say for sure John, haven’t had to take mine off yet. I wouldn’t doubt your assumption though, I would be surprised if they came off perfectly clean but some rubbing alcohol should take care of any residue. Talon has instructions for removal online as well!

They will leave stick but this can be removed with diluted rubbing alcohol
