History
At 19 miles, route 468 is one of London's longest routes, operating between South Croydon and Elephant & Castle. It parallels route 68 for much of its length.

Route 468 commenced operation on 27 March 1999 between South Croydon Garage and Elephant & Castle via Croydon - Thornton Heath - Upper Norwood - Crown Point - West Norwood - Tulse Hill - Herne Hill - Denmark Hill - Camberwell Green. The route was initially operated by Arriva London from their Croydon (TC) garage using Leyland Olympians and MCW Metrobuses. The route is a renumbering of route 68A.
On 29 April 2000, the route was converted to low floor operation using Alexander ALX400 bodied DAF DB250LFs.
On 1 April 2006, the route passed to London Central operating from their Camberwell (Q) garage using brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs. The route was withdrawn between Swan and Sugar Loaf and South Croydon Bus Garage at the same time.
On 2 April 2011, the route was retained by London Central.
In November 2014, Alexander Dennis Enviro 400s were introduced alongside the existing Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs.
On 31 March 2018, the route passed back to Arriva London operating from their Norwood (N) garage using brand new Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.
