@@joshgoodman6534 Very bad analogy. Elon made some big promises about FSD, and that was 8 years ago. Elon continues to hype FSD, even though its been degraded to Supervised Driving. 5 years of beta testing, 1000's of engineering man hours, and FSD cannot even drive for one hour in a busy big city without human intervention. To say that is a let down would be a huge understatement. And lets not forget that Cyber Taxi is years late and still non-operational. Missing in action, it is pure vapor ware. I used FSD in chill mode in Calgary as well after it snowed. It takes on/off ramp too fast as if it’s summer. It does not slow down early enough to account extra stopping distance for winter driving. I had to disengage as the computer is not smart enough to identify potential black ice. I don’t know if the car is smart enough to correct itself, but I rather not risk a spin out.

Not labeling has nothing to do with labeling. They just need more training data incorporated in the AI model for snow driven situations by humans to model off of... Then it correctly adjust the inputs to correlate with proper turn radii for the various snow situations that it encounters. My bet is that the training data set for snow driven situations for ai4 is lower than they had gathered for ai3 and it's very likely that the model hasn't been updated to include that training data Corpus. One of the advantages of now having cortex at giga Texas is the rate at which that they can incorporate Real world gathered training video data from snow driven scenarios into the model training sessions and thus rapidly provide the capability to the new model. It also helps that because more and more cars are being sold and across many different geographies that the total number of scenarios for snow driven situations is increasing exponentially. Thus providing an extremely rich Corpus of training data that can then be used to update the model. My guess is they don't need to gather more data. Rather there's a backlog in training The models with the gathered data which the Cortex coming online a few months back is going to greatly alleviate.... This is also likely why Elon and Tesla is so confident that they will be able to go to a fully unsupervised version within the next 6 months or so. I agree with that assessment.
