Hi, I was really surprised, places I was doing 170km/h, where Misha was doing 250km/h haha. But I learned a lot on that lap and set a time myself 2sec slower than Misha, thanks again Misha 🙏.

@@VitaCola2 maybe it's wrong. clearly officially it remains that the vz5 will not be introduced in the facelift but the new formentor with the 5 cylinders on top has already been spotted right here at the ring. this makes me think that almost certainly in the future they will introduce it to the market. however, as an owner of the vz5 I can say that it is an absolute drug as a means

Hi all, I am the terrified owner of the Vz5. Those of you who seem very amused that I looked scared are absolutely right, but I'm certainly just as scared when I'm a passenger when the wife drives to the store 🫣. I ask Misha to drive my car because I didn't get faster times than 7:58 B to G. But after one lap with Misha I found 8sec faster on my 25 lap, big thanks Misha🙏.

@@Porkycheun Actually the AD09 are on the lower level of a semislick (to be clear, less performance than a052 or trofeo R, more probably in line with a Michelin 4S or slighly above). Therefore it is still very impressive

Sadly the VZ5 is no longer in production. The new Formentor doesn't have a VZ5 version. Thanks to the stupid and useless green rules of the EU.

Formentor have a frame that is a masterpiece, fine tuned by Cupra engineers. Suspensions are also quite sophisticated (active suspensions as standard equipement). It's basically a sport car with the body of a crossover. And a stylish one also. The new model doesn't have the same aggressive and unique look, but remain the best suv-crossover on the market.

Schön dass Misha das Auto gefällt! Ich fahre selbst den VZ5 und bin absolut happy damit. Ein flotter Daily, der trotzdem abliefern kann! Eigentlich kann man das Ding kaum SUV nennen, er ist sehr kompakt und sogar über 100 kg leichter als der BMW M2.

The difference in height compared to a Leon It's around 5-6 cm, it is practically the same, but with all-wheel drive and a larger engine. As you say, It's not a SUV, It is a car that follows the current fashion of the so-called "Crossover", which is indeed a compact with a little more height.

Ha ha, I noticed that too, are theyvever going to figure that one out? My friend with mk8 GTI got a steering wheel replacement that was supposed to solve the issues but he's still getting them just less frequent.

@@bokiNYC I had a steering wheel replacement, an entertainment screen replacement, injectors changed, fuel pump changed and multiple other items over an 18 month period. They couldn't fix it so I handed it back. A great car but unfortunately flawed in so many mechanical ways. These issues are prevalent across the whole VW group.

I am a VZ5 owner and the car is not compareable with a Q3 in terms of dynamics. Its not only faster in straight line but, thanks to the torque split differential, much more agile in corners. Different brake pads are not necessary cause the stock Akebono brake system is so well suited for the track that from my own experince the tyres will overheat before the brakes start to fade. The car is slept on by a lot of people, so you suprise people on the autobahn here and there. I ordered and bought mine for around 50k€ which is a bargain compared how fun and fast the car is. PS: I agreee with the exhaust. You can improve it with a manual valve control but one could imagine how amazing it would sound without a GPF. Still a great daily though

Cupra Formentor is one of the best cars ever made of the past 5 years. The VZ5 is an absolute beast but it's very funny and pleasant to drive also with more "humble" engines like the VZ with 310 HP and the VZ hybrid with 245 HP

the 2.0 vz version easly to tune around 420-430 hp, and its lighter (maybe better in cornering), so i think that it can be a beast as well :)

All things being roughly equal, it looked like the beemer had the straight line acceleration but not the driver knowledge of the track. Also Misha was pushing harder than usual, it seems (competition with the vehicle behind him? Even he wouldn't be immune).

I think what's best about high performance VW products is that they are actually designed to handle 10/10th without overheating. 118c while Misha is driving for oil temperature is excellent. lots of cars from other automakers(Japanese automakers especially) don't do this.

This was a long time coming one for me, as a VZ5 owner. Was really wondering when you'll have one on the channel. Hats down to Björn for getting in contact with you. I was really curious based on your experience from other drives how it compares to the other ones, RS3 8Y and RSQ3 F3, but also higher rated cars of the same class such as the old gen (ICE) Porsche Macan. Also, did it feel RWD biased? Was curios if so, as with the rear diff in Cupra mode it should help with torque vectoring under braking as well as acceleration. I agree with the exhaust part. Stock (OPF installed) is a shame for that engine, hence why I'm really considering getting a full kit from Ragazzon (OPF delete & Sport CAT).

Man, judging from the video I wish I had the money to buy a VZ .... just bought the new 1.5eTSI, and it accelerates like a slab of concrete. Hoping a stage 1 tune can add a bit of fun to it tho.
