I have a dmax with 4jj and single turbo swap at 62psi (including atmosphere) and the 6speed Aisin box. Probably 380bhp 1000nm and can rip my face off taking off from a standstill in 3rd gear. I dont like to do it too many times but it seems to take it no sweat. 1st and 2nd are pointless on it now it goes through them so fast you're rev bouncing it if you even give it more than about 20% throttle.

I test drove the previous shape Mustang 5.0 GT. It felt way slower than my Alfa Giulietta Veloce (with downpipe and tune) and I ended up not going for the Mustang. It did sound 100 times better than the Alfa, but the lack of power does not make up for it :(

I might be wrong but I believe the m3, m4 and M2 all use the same or similar rear assembly, like the diff, axles and so on. Also, that zf8 gearbox with that engine is not light. Its quite heavy. 1.8 is a bit rough though.

BMW has been slowly making their M-cars less focused on raw driving performance, and basically luxury fast cars. Meaning more sound dampening, more luxury materials, more stuff in the cars chassis to prevent the drivers from feeling any real harshness that these cars would typically hit you with. BMW assumes the target demographic for these cars is just rich people going to the mall.

My dad drove a lot of German luxury cars (7 series, A8, S Class, 911, ...) and even tho he always made fun of american muscle cars, at the end of his years, he wanted a yellow Corvette. He realized that all that hate towards muscle cars brought him nowhere and he missed out on some of the most fun cars that ever existed, just because he needed to fit in to a norm. I bought a Mustang partially because of this. He would've been proud and he would've had so much fun driving it. To this day I still dream of a yellow Corvette C6. I guess what I would like to say is, that I want everyone to enjoy great cars. The Mustang is the last cheap V8 powered car and we should celebrate the fact that Ford still builds them, even if it can't always keep up with some of the German cars.

S58 sounds very bad, just like the S55 before it. The only way to save that horrid tone is to give it an equal-length midpipe or even custom headers. The B58 and N55 sound much better. I realize this is subjective but saying that the S58 sounds better than the Coyote is heresy. Where's your freedom spirit my man 😂

What are you talking about? It doesnt matter if its Trubo vs NA if the power is similar. The only advantage Turbo have in that case is torque but also disadvantage with lag in those roll races. The problem is that Ford always had shitty gearbox which is killing the performance.

Zf8 gearbox is superior, I would reckon 2nd best next to the PDK from Porsche. They are fantastic gearboxes. Ford should've done zf8, there is a reason they are used in aston martins, bmw's , new Audi's, land rovers, corvette zr1 to name a few.

The gearbox in the Mustang definately needs a tune! Is not the manual plagued by really tall gearing (similar to the Porsche Boxster)? For me they both have their pros and cons. The Mustang sounds amazing and I love the NA engine. The Mustang is a bit more spacious. The BMW is better built but is more complex and heavy for the size of car. I could go with both :)

This isn't a measuring system problem, it holds its own in the rolling race as expected. The only difference in the rolling race is the fact that it's naturally aspirated and loses momentum on every shift since it's not on max power all the time. The problem here is that godawful TC system, and I'd even mention that the gearbox seems tuned very poorly.

My Father in law has a RHD converted Saleen Parnelli Jones Mustang here in the land of snakes and spiders (2007). A new M3 pulled up at the petrol station next to me (I was in my family Carnival) this afternoon at a petrol station. I was trying to explain to my kids just how quick the M3 would be. They just wanted to know if it was faster than grandad's Mustang. I said yeah it would leave the Mustang in the dirt but it's probably 2 or 3 times the price and does not have anywhere near the theatre. They were happy with that.
