EXACTLY right! 👍🏼 As someone who is currently searching for a FULL TIME position WITH benefits, it is shocking how very hard it is to find anything like that now. Jobs are primarily part time or have no benefits. I guess JB's America is stretching businesses to their limit so they have to make changes & scale way back. It's scary actually. The jobs reports indicate a strong job market but they now include part time positions, thereby inflating the numbers. VERY deceptive & shady. I wish my company didn't eliminate my job because I never had a hard time finding a full time position with benefits as I am now. I always had multiple offers with a choice of which company I wanted to go with. Vote right in November America, ON election day IN PERSON, like your life depends on it...cause it DOES!!!

I used to always shop at Dollar tree now. I rarely shop there at all since they raised their prices. I find that most things are cheaper at Giant food stores now. The problem isn't just that the price went up at Dollar tree but so many of the items content quantity dropped so much. Like from 3.5 oz to 2.75 Oz. So it was a double whammy. Now things are cheaper at the grocery store😮😮😮

This is how I explain the unemployment market... I work for a local school district for twenty eight years and I can tell you that all schools are short staffed and have been for years. They offer good benefits free health care, paid sick days, paid vacation, a real pension and yearly pay raises. The problem is people don't want to work nights, or Mondays and Fridays or holidays or weekends! I would disagree with Clark's assessment of Aldi. I and many others are attracted to Aldi for its decent and ever-expanding inventory of organic food at less than Whole Foods prices. But I suspect Clark misses this point because he seems to view organic food as a sort of scam, which it most certainly isn't. By the way, do you know what they call 'organic food' in Europe -- including Germany, where Aldi is headquartered? They call it 'food.'

One reason people do not apply for government jobs is that they do NOT offer the security of the past. New York still offers a pension, but benefits have been reduced 5 times since it was originally implemented. Those on the original plan paid nothing in and could retire at 55 with 30 years service (20 for law enforcement). Now, new workers pay in between 3 and 6% based on salary, and except for law enforcement officers, cannot collect a full benefit until 63. At least, unlike in other states, it is fully funded and cannot be raided to cover state bdget deficits. Health insurance, once free, now has a continually increasing cost to the worker which is no better than private industry and retiree health plans have been cut as well. Teachers are particularly in short supply, but jobs requiring similar credentials (master's degrees) in private industry pay more, and unfortunately, teachers are the subject of vilification by politicians, which affects respect from the public as well. As a result, enrollments in teacher education programs have declined substantially.

Credit unions are not always the good guys. The larger ones can act just like the large banks. My small CU was taken over by a larger one that cancelled all home equity lines of credit and required everyone to re-apply and pay a whole set of fees, including for a new appraisal. The original loan had no fees and required appraisals only in unusual circumstances because they knew the market.
@Clark6 ай бұрын
😠 We're hearing more and more that some credit unions are not operating under their legal structure to put people over profits. Be sure you're attending their members' annual meeting and either run for the board of directors or vote to elect candidates who will uphold the values of a traditional credit union.

To the couple with the age Gap I'm not sure if they want to get married, you should think about when you get even older and your social security. If you're married you can take spousal benefits or widowed and widow's benefits if one of you passes. There are definite Financial gains to being married, let alone the moral aspect of it which apparently most people don't care much about anymore!

Aldi does not have old or rotten food, it comes off the shelf very quickly there! Organic means less pesticides, and usually much more careful handling. However, we do not buy many organic foods, unless they are cheaper or higher quality, so only occasionally. At Aldi, they are very efficient, and one can save 20-40 percent. We go each week first to Aldi, and to the expensive store just once a month. To us, the only things good at dollar stores, are small quantities of paper goods and cups, etc. I do hate how many dollar stores are unkempt!
