Love it! What a great view of your gardens! ❤ What I most appreciate about your talent & determination is that you work within the “confines” of a smaller home ppty. THIS is the realism we need to see…it’s achievable for so many of your viewers. 👍🏻 Divinely lush! I didn’t realize that you had that pathway in the back - clever and useful indeed. Wood chips are such a great material for the walkways…..easy to set up and maintain (once the weeds are controlled 🤣) and won’t create a tripping hazard or a hard landing for those of us who are…ahem…not all that coordinated. Now I need to find your video(s) which explain how you keep this all watered! Thank you, Jim. Gosh - I love a garden tour at every season to watch how plants evolve thru the year.

Hi Jim and Stephanie! This drone view was AWESOME!! I love where you are going with creating islands and "rooms", and you did such an AMAZING job on your patio. I love the mix of stone and bricks. When I moved here (it will be 2 yrs. In October) as soon as I stepped out into the back yard, it was nasty muddy mess. We took your advice and added shredded mulch all the way down that north side of the yard and it is a raised hard pathway with no mud... YAY!! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us. I am always learning, and never missing any of your videos. And slowly but surely I check out your "b4 Jen found you" videos! Lol 😂 💜🙏💜

"Grrrrrrr" to Mr. Putnam (but don't upset Holly of course). Going on about how much rain you have had. I am in the same Zone as you - newly 8a - but just north of Atlanta and I am officially in EXTREME DROUGHT. Didn't even get any overflow from Debbi. Your garden in Putnam 8a looks very different from some areas of mine!! so much for gardening by Zone. Perhaps we need a Rainfall Zone? - 2 hours later. It definitely pays to complain to Mr. Putnam. The skies opened in the dark and it is raining. I had forgotten how amazing a dry garden smells with the first rain. 0.18" so far. Thank you sir for sharing your bounty. !!!!!!

When you said you would do a detailed tour in the last video I hoped you'd use the drone. This was awesome. We've killed off the turf in our backyard with black plastic as the bermuda was constantly encroaching on the surrounding beds. This was an awesome overview! You must be able to walk and chew gum to drone and talk. ☺

Good afternoon guys! Jim just two statements then a question. First, your landscape and beds are phenomenal. The difference in 4 yrs is unbelievable. My statements are to mention that I appreciate the wealth of knowledge you and Stephanie bring to your channel. Especially the last couple of episodes. Your explanation of the differences of soils we all have to understand and work with was one of if not the best explanations to your audience in any of your episodes. Also the watering episode was so in depth it made me go a cultivate as much as I could in our vegetable garden because of the drought conditions we’re experiencing now in central Virginia. Our bed got compacted but now it seems to be doing great since I’ve increased my watering. As for my my question it’s simple… What happened to your water feature in backyard? Kinda miss it!

The garden has come so far. I’ve found in my own garden , the part I’m responsible for (it was my mother in laws garden before me) that I have difficulty with a plan. Some things seem pretty obvious but others I struggle with. Mainly placement of plants and misjudging the size some will get. It seems I love mostly large plants but something must go in the front of that bed. You always inspire me to look for better options. Thanks

My question is about crepe myrtle bark scale. How would you handle it? From China, first discovered in Mississippi and spreading. The study wont be complete until this Oct. The two chemicals dinotefuran and imidacloprid can affect 1200 species of insects. If you cut and transport the tree the bugs can escape. If it goes to the landfill and gets ground up for top soil, you are spreading it also. This seems to be a no win. I just do not want to see it spread to all my neighbors trees and bushes.
