The trend with young comics is to talk to the audience, but the job is to do an act-- perform. Have something to say. Entertain. Not be a smartass at the end of the bar. The fact you have something to say and it's real and relatable is beautiful. Very nicely written set.

The shower comparison was funny, you could expand on that bit. It can be so awkward, the hardware just isn’t the same. You may not want to go ask the host how to operate it because you’re toweled or maybe even naked and half wet. You have to fumble around until the water suddenly shoots out and hits you in the face.
