op is a doormat. father didn't call him once in a year and op went right back to wanting to prove himself to his father.

Love how parents neglect all the contributions of their kin who’ve had years of experience and actually know the business just to give it to someone who literally just wandered in (either through personal or familial means) only for it to backfire in their face later. Several examples were explained by OP as to how Jake has screwed the business and yet he got “handed the keys to the kingdom” and continued to screw things up (by basically screwing with the financial aspect). Degrees, education and accolades mean nothing compared to the work someone actually put in without all those ”qualifications”. And hanging the “oh so and so is much more qualified because they play to start a family” is such BS too because what does that prove? Absolutely nothing. Honestly if OP did start his own business, all his former coworkers would jump ship and work under him. But the father was a fool to continue to blindly trust outsiders with his business that he could have lost (either through legal routes or just having it signed out from under him).

How it the world in the op's fathers eyes was 7% a better deal than 10%?

Agreed. I would be far more vindictive. He was set to take charge of the company as it was, not have it be given away and then given it back when it was already on the verge of collapse. This was after personally going out of his way to save it from collapse, too, rather than having the father reach out. He also wasn't made the owner like Jake supposedly was - just a partner. This would still feel like a slap in the face.

@@NeoStriker Being made the owner while it was on the verge of collapse would also not be right. Given that it was on the verge of collapse, it was best to be partners, meaning the father would take his share of the burden.

people like OP disgust me to the core. I think OP like the drama☺🤣🤣🤣 in OP's new career path there was everything better than his previous job but it has no family drama so he came back for it.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

My eyes hurt from rolling my eyes at OP 😒. Jeez grow some cajones, your dad betrayed you in the worst possible way + he NEVER once called-and you still set yourself on fire just to keep him warm SMH.

In my opinion OP shouldn’t have been such a doormat and forgive his father and sister so easily they should’ve worked for it way more and even just leaving the whole family behind in my opinion the father was so rude and neglectful and the sister just turned her back on him so easily they shouldn’t be forgiven it is a messed up family since they hurt OP mental health…(just saying my opinion)

The op may have been a doormat but at least he chose to grow up and be a little more mature in life in more ways than one due to the fact that it took his brother in law's deception and fraudulent ways to allow his father to realize that he made a serious mistake and he needed help to save the family business down the line, so call the op a doormat but at least he didn't allow the business to fall apart then decide not to save it down the line that's for sure,so give him a little credit for doing what is right and not be an uncaring brat that chose to look out for himself big time for that matter.
