As soon as the dr said no more children this should no longer have been an issue… when a dr recommends that it means that you or your(or in this case your sisters) baby’s life will be at risk during the pregnancy or delivery. Neither of which is ok! If she wants someone in the family to carry her child spread out to cousins or younger aunts… risking your life to have a baby that you were warned not to have… should not be your responsibility… you have a responsibility to the children you already gave birth to it’s ok to make them your priority.

I can’t believe anyone who has actually carried a baby, even with an easy pregnancy, would think you could just casually be a surrogate for someone else. Professional surrogates are expensive for a reason.

This is absoloutly insain, i've heard a lot of horrible reddit stories but nothing compaires to this. First of all, asking someone to put their body through all that for another person is crazy. Secondly, the bond a mother creates with the child is a love no one could ever compaire to. Which is why giving up the most important thing for someone else is one of the most hardest things you'll ever have to do. I promise you you'll regret it for the rest of your life. I know someone who did it for their brother, they're now depressed and alone.

You should never give in to being her surrogate. My mom went through something similar when I was born since I'm the forth child and my mother can't have any more kids so her health can't go down.

When doctors say, "No more babies!" Pretty sure that means no more babies. Would Bella or the mom be ok if op died in child birth? The OPs husband is left to raise the kids and a new born on his own. Ridiculous!

'Think of the family' but never think of the op as family... the hypocrisy in people when they dont get their own way... all she needs to say is that its no longer medically safe to be pregnant, for both baby and her... thats it, the sister wouldnt be able to say thats selfish and it would transfer the 'blame' to situation and not the person.

If they go through with the adoption support them and encourage your family to do so too. That’s what my uncle and grandparents did for my parents in the 1970th and it made a huge difference. We are very close and care a lot for each other. My oldest cousin is my godmother and I’m to both her and her sister‘s sons. That’s family, that’s important.

Not clear how they wanted op to be surrogate. Sis might have her own eggs. Egg donation would still be unnecessary medical intervention for OP, and a big ask, where everyone should have accepted an immediate “no”

I feel bad for both op and Bella, it's really hard to just point the finger at Bella here, since I've done my fair share of irrational things under circumstances, but it's certainly nice to see how things ended nicely instead of another divorce or what not.

That's thte thing. If this is so close family, they can probably pass it as quick adoption/get the sister on certificate without much fuss. To get a "normal" surrogate they would need to make a contract, have both the person and boyfriend tested, probably use a lot of money on the whole process... and probably Belle have this "blood family" shit in head, so having someone with at least some of their DNA is better than surogate/adoption. I know being sterile is a struggle, but she should firstly get some help herself, then try for a child....

The sister was the selfish one no one should be forced or pressured to be a surrogate i just know that it would be hard for to go through nine months or more of a very painful and dangerous pregnancy as in OPs situation and when OP clearly stated facts about how it was very dangerous some of her family still pressured her which would probably cause her more stress during the already difficult pregnancy EDIT:I am very glad the sister listened and finally understood OPs side and took a different path i feel this decision made her a better person

I know op and ops sister will probably never see this, but adoption is literally one of the best paths to becoming a parent that you could choose. Sure, you can give birth to your own flesh and blood, but adoption is giving an already born child a chance to have a family, a chance to feel love that they may not be getting anywhere else. I was one of the lucky adopted ones. Immediately placed in a foster home that wanted to adopt me. I grew up knowing love and acceptance that I probably wouldn't have found elsewhere. I've met both sides of my biological family. While I love getting to know them, I shudder to think what I would have become if they had raised me.

I’m a surrogate baby. My mom had her uterus taken out do to a growth. My surrogate was a friend of my moms and I still know her today. Basically she could have a friend be a surrogate

It's hard to hear that. I don't understand why they can't think of anyone else as a surrogate since the genetics will still be from Bella and her bf so it doesn't change a bit for them who carries out the baby as long as the person is reliable. But an already existing living creature is always wirth more than a living creature yet to be. The baby is planned but is not even forming inside anybody's body and still this baby is more important than the life of Bella's sister. That is just so ridiculous. I get them wanting a baby so hard but then I must think of possible options that hurt no one else

My thing is what the hell is it their business it's a comment on you not wanting to carry a whole ass baby for another person, hell I'd say no to my siblings just on principal alone, any kid I carry is my fuckin baby I'm not giving them to anyone! Your sister isn't owed motherhood, she can put on her big girl panties and explore other options for having a baby, doctor already said it would be risking yours and any future childs health to try for more, so the matter is settled, you said no and she needs to suck it up. The hysterectomy is still a surgery with some recovery time, it’s more complicated than a vasectomy, so I believe she could not be able to do it, because she can’t leave all the house work, taking care of the 04 kids, including a newborn, and taking care of her in the hands of the husband, it’s too much for anyone. Besides, she might not want to get on a surgical table so soon after birth

Honestly I would rather have them take my uterus and ovaries out if I ever find out the risk is too high, thankfully that hasn't occurred just a miscarriage and PCOS. Thankfully no high risk, my mother on other hand had shattered her tail bone before I was born. They told her not to have anymore children as any birth could kill her, she took the risk with her life three more times after me. I think she is crazy and lucky that it worked out, no one should be asked to take a risk to their health.
