Dyne has mostly stayed same to his original character, while becoming both bit softer and darker than his OG-counterpart. In the original game, Dyne wasn't this expressive or crazed but had adopted a more nihilistic worldview. He still hallucinates about hearing his wife's voice to urge him to forgive Barret, but unlike in the original, he doesn't set out to kill Marlene to reunite her with her mother when he learns from Barret that she's alive. He also commits suicide after fighting Barret, while making him promise to never make Marlene cry, unlike here where he sacrifices his life to protect Barret, while still bitterly telling him to live on with the guilt he carries.

Rebirth version all the wayyy baby. Don't forget in the orig cloud just stands there like a dope while Barret cries in agony. Glad they changed that in this one : )

Yuffie steping up to defend Barret, probably can take out what's left of the populace, told to leave it alone by him.

When you think about it, Shrinra is basically a what if the Hellfire Club owned the world. An organization that controls pretty much everything and has a legion of superhumans and mutants at its beck and call.

@soyborne.bornmadeandundone1342 The government doesn't have as much power as you think, nor are as quick to do bad. And they certainly don't have superhuman soldiers.
