hehehe, monkey go self-combust due to lethal ingestion of gray fruit. Fun fact: this game had a really rushed development cycle, and a LOT of stuff was left unused: items, areas, bosses and NPCs. It's honestly kind of a miracle in my eye how solid this game turned out to be in spite of the truckloads of stuff left on the cutting room floor. Fun fact #2: the guerrilla guys' scarfs share their palette with the blood effects, so if you have blood turned off, it will appear as light blue instead of red in-game.

Hey gray metal slug has a surprising deep lore and it start kind of real and sad with the downfall of a highly respected military man and the death of his family then shit gets wacky by game 4 with advance ai and gods of death

43:27 This was the most memorable thing about Metal Slug from my childhood. I remmeber a scene where a kid with a bunch of other kids looking on was playing this level at an arcade cabinet in my parent's buisness and I gave a whole bunch of coins to him because I want to see him beat the game. He didn't manage but it was amazing to watch him play.

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH This one is the canonical end of the story as intended by Man of Steel, the Rebel Army got the blueprints of Metal Slug in Metal Slug 4 bad ending (which is canonical by the way) and after gaining most of the world, they conjured Geographia (The Avatar of Evil[Final Boss of the game and symbol of the Rebel brazo]) that was ultimately repelled.

Mercenary kings is a ton of fun, but it suffers from late game difficulty spikes that make it almost impossible. It’s not even fun like new enemies it’s just repeat enemies with more health. Fun to check out before it gets bad way later tho
