i think old games had to be a certain length because of the cost of getting them put on cartridges was a lot and they wanted bang for their buck, and shorter games only came around with digitally downloading ones; but this is just my idea it might not be true at all

Startropics is easily one of the best games on the nes by the way, it's really good. You'll need to look up the code for the ship if you dont have the manual and the final level is brutally hard but other than that it's extremely solid

I was a little disappointed watching Gray bounce off Golfaria and Bushido Ball but I think that's part of the beauty of this game, everyone will like something different in the collection. Seeing where different people's opinion on the games align with your own and where they differ is really interesting to me (For instance I definitely didn't enjoy Magic Garden as much as Gray did but we had the same disinterest in Block Koala lol)

A couple of small pointers for Kirby Super Star since you might stream it soon. 1. Make sure to wait on the title screens of all the sub games to watch their opening cutscenes, they don't play when you select "new game" so you will miss them if you don't do this. 2. When starting a sub game say YES when it asks if you want a tutorial, the tutorials have cool unique sprites that I think you would like and saying NO just gives you a different, more boring, tutorial. Btw if you ever want to check out some of the unique content in super star ultra on the DS, I wouldn't mind making a save file for you so you could pick up where you left off from the snes version after you beat it.

5:35 the it's called kinetic typography, specifically. I remember seeing some classic memes (doorstuck, boku no pico copypasta etc.) on youtube with subtitles done in that style. I would also like to use this opportunity to say that I hate the animated logo of the company that made the car ad, you can see it around 3:17. It's a ship with a bunch of gears, wheels, and propellers slapped onto it, it's literally the definition of a corporation screaming "LOOK, WE'RE QUIRKY" in desperation

I cherried Block Koala and it's a mid block shoving puzzle at best I'm ngl. Really the only element of it that's actually Puzzle is figuring out the rules, which are obtuse and don't lend themselves to further discovery, so once you've done like 5 puzzles with each type of mechanic you've effectively done every puzzle in the game. Also, seems like no one mentioned it on stream, but there IS a way to turn more in onion delivery-if you hold both buttons you can drift, which is 100% worth at least checking the game out for a few more minutes to play with because it feels cool to do. If you drift long enough you can even do a spin attack lol
@MoistNapkin69Күн бұрын
I know about the drift mechanic but I thought the spin was like losing control and spinning out. Does it actually mean you don't take damage from things like crashing into cars or the explosive blocks (idk what they actually are)?
@purplyoshi6754Күн бұрын
I also cherried Block Koala and the thing that fucks me up about it is the terrible difficulty spikes in certain levels

Block Koala is the only game in the pack that's actually too long
@qwertyqeysСағат бұрын
a lot of block koala feels like the "we made it so if you try to do something convenient it soft locks you, so instead you have to walk around the long way to win" school of puzzle design, which isn't so much a puzzle as it is a trick designed to punish impatient players, and it's always the same exact trick
