When my mental health was at the worse I lived in a horrible state like this. I called a local extreme cleaning organization who did free cleaning for those who had mental health issues. It changed my life gave me back my apartment and was such a weight and allowed me to start to better manage and maintain my life. People who do this work are angels, they change lives, and help in ways you can’t imagine.

the lack of sympathy in the comments is really upsetting. the lady is already quite old herself, doesn’t seem very fit, has to look after her husband full-time, and also do whatever she can to care for herself. obviously it’s horrible and disgusting to live in but this poor woman has an ill husband and most likely poor mental health. how can you call her lazy like that? it doesn’t hurt to have an ounce of sympathy fr.

It's not techniques they need. This is usually the result of being overworked, overwhelmed, or in yhr bad cases, mental problems. With hoarding, it's a form of OCD and they MIGHT clear it with medication but might not. People who have had trauma in their lives often hoard a lot of stuff. Like trying to keep all this stuff because they lost their hisband or child and so all the junk is something they CAN keep. My uncle used to even have stacks of newspapers. I was lucky enough to find that SOME were actually ties together with string, others weren't.

I think one of the things I love best about this show is the no judgments as anyone at any time can be placed in a situation beyond their mental capacity to cope, with, whether it be a dirty home or any other trauma. This show is so educational and a breath of fresh air. Love it!

That's funny cause gave my daughter a demonstration of how to use the trash can since she's 13 years old and doesn't seem to understand how to place trash in her trash can. I found a huge old toy fire engine out side a house...which was covered in thick dust and grease from a kitchen ...I believe...I cleaned it under the shower with a paintbrush and fairly liquid..it came up fantastic and now is like new ! Love it ! Love these two ladies they are awsome !
