Working full-time for a long time prepares you for burnout, chronic diseases and premature death. Choose flexibility over unnecessary full-time stress.

PREACH PREACHERRR!! I think more people need to speak on it because this is facts! Money can’t make me be sick because the same money you save you’ll end up using for medication and that’s just not my portion in life

Prn makes about $40/hr at my hospital and you get incentive with every shift. You can make $15k per month after taxes if you work 60 hour weeks. I’m cool with not having insurance or PTO with that pay

When working part time 26 hours per week, if you pick up an extra day (basically full time) is that usually with an incentive? Yo might’ve explained that in the video but I didn’t catch on lol

@@allthingsdami do you like that better? The travel nursing.. & I actually had a question about that. When you get your place to live, do you get a little time say after your contract ends to keep the place you’re living at which then allows you a little freedom to explore the town and just have fun before the lease is up? Or does the lease usually end right when the contract ends? I was considering travel nursing but with the requirement of 3x12s for 3 months, I was wondering how much time I’ll get to just explore the area etc

@@Kassiex5 Hey Kassie I actually just posted my apartment tour for my travel nursing housing so check that out and I’m sure it will answer you’re questions. But essentially you get to choose whether you want you’re agency you find you housing or if you want to get housing yourself and just get paid out for that (the better option in my opinion). So because I choose to find my own place to live I can come to the city early or stay as long as I want understanding that I’m only getting that housing paid for the duration of my work contract. I always try to keep my IG followers up to date with what I do on my free time but there is plenty of time to explore during your assignment. I usually take the first few weeks the acclimatize myself to the work and new environment then it’s go time and IM OUTSIDEEEE!

I think it's great that you won't need a retirement check later in life or any other benefits. And if you get sick or in a car accident you won't receive any pay at all for god knows how long. I have a friend who did travel nursing for big $$ and now lives on 1800 a month social security and is desperate for money every day because she could not commit to a long term position. Oh well. You new nurses only think about today. Good luck with tomorrow. Tooooo soft.

Well for anyone doing part time, its always good to get disability insurance, health insurance and any other every month to prepare for anything in the future. You also need to be wise with funds, for canadians, you can make sure you max your tfsa yearly and contribute to RRSP.
