The Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas has nearly 6,800 fixed seats, however, the configuration of the ring and backstage area knocked out nearly 3,000 seats. I arrived a little after 5pm and it took over an hour to get into the arena due to understaffed security lines; there had to have been a massive surge in ticket sales after Thursday's news of the WWE/NXT partnership with TNA because I felt bad for that staff who dealt with a much larger crowd than I think the venue was initially expecting. (Keep in mind that staffing for an event is typically done at least a week or two in advance, depending on the arena.) I would guess the attendance would be close to 4,000 and it was a legit 4K based on what I saw at the arena.

This is probably the first time I've watched TNA since it left over-the-air TV (it might have been when it was cancelled by Spike a long time ago). And to watch this card in person was amazing. Yes, there were some rough spots: Ace Austin appeared to have a couple subtle botches in his X Division match with Moose; some of the spots in I Quit seemed a little off; the Knockouts Title match felt a little dead (though having to follow Hardys vs. Rascalz didn't help matters much) and felt way over the top booking-wise. On the other hand, the crowd was so into most of the matches, it added to how great the card was. The Hardys and Joe Hendry got the loudest pops of the night; Tessa got the loudest heat of the night, though collectively, The System (who is a far more effective heel stable than Moxley's Crew of Losers down in Jacksonville) got similar heat from the crowd. I hope we can get TNA to return to Dallas soon and maybe find a larger venue (ie. CUTX Event Center in Allen), though the Culwell Center is a pretty nice and underrated venue in the DFW area.

I think part of that was the way the arena was set up. Honestly, if TNA were able to do so, they could've added another 600 or so by opening up one of the three sections on both sides of the arena (the Culwell Center has a "horseshoe" seating arrangement as opposed to the typical "racetrack" seating arrangement (I could be wrong, but I think Baltimore Arena was set up that way back in the 1980s.) There didn't seem to be as many ringside rows (which was probably by design) so that's probably why the ring appeared smaller on TV.

I think some of it had to do with the arena setup. The ramp felt a lot shorter than at a typical WWE or AEW show and there weren't as many rows of floor seating, but that was an electric atmosphere to watch an wrestling card.

Production-wise, AEW may be better. As far as the in ring presentation, TNA gets the edge. I'm sorry, but not every wrestling PPV can have the same WWE-type production values.
