Absolutely very enjoyable I’ve lived in cities all of my life and I don’t want to do it anymore I’ve just finally had enough so watching videos like yours makes me think I would really like to have a small little Farm / homestead. I’ve been out of work a while now waiting on knee surgery waiting lists are ridiculous here in Canada. So I’ve spent quite a bit of time watching videos of people like yourselves who live a different lifestyle and I believe it’s some thing I’d like to try. As I found myself while out with my injury making all my own foods from canning pickling butchering my own meat making my own Bacon and sausages, baking my own bread I find I’m really enjoying it. Of course laid up with the knee means I’m putting on weight all that delicious homemade fresh bread and homemade butter lol.

That was very interesting. Thank you very much. Today I saw first time your video. I have a question. Have also trees for birds and nests in the trees? Trees are good against wind and good for the birds. You have so much different vegetable and flowers. That is great. You are blessed with your farm🙏 Have you also herbs? ( Oregano, Basilikum, Thymian and so on...Sorry , I don' t know the name in english language😊...only in german language...Petersilie, Schnittlauch and so on.) God bless you and your family🙏 Could you show, how can I plant herbs? and must you buy seed for the tomatoes plants every year? I'm not a farmer. Only a hobby gardener.
@FarmersFriend3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Trees can be a great wind block, but take a long time to grow and don't always make sense when farming on rented/leased land, as is the case here. Regarding the specific herbs, I can't remember what all varieties they grow besides the ones he mentions in the film... You can find Kyle and Mel on Instagram @riverhill.farm if you'd like to find out more!

Very nice farm you all have. What is the watering process like? Do you typically water it yourself, or just leave it up to mother nature?
@FarmersFriend3 жыл бұрын
Kyle and Mel do have supplemental irrigation from a well on the property. It's crucial for a farm to always have its own source of irrigation other than just the rain so you have better chances of surviving a drought.
