Well done farm and well done video production. I suggest the question "What do you know now that you wish you had known when you started?". Everyone who has started a business has an informative answer.

Really like this story! It's my dream to start my own farm. I've saved about 25k. Two things you have that you can be thankful for are the 'family land' and you have each other. The more I'm formulating my plan to start a farm the more I realise that it will be impossible without someone to help me. Most of the farmers I follow have a wife or partner to help in some way. I think doing something like this alone will kill my dream because of the loneliness and isolation that can happen on a farm.

Hey Phil, thanks for sharing! Regarding the land, you might consider asking around to see if any friends or neighbors have some land they would be welling to rent/lease to you to grow on. This can be a great way to get started, learn, and make mistakes so that you'll be a lot smarter once you do get onto your own land someday. Regarding loneliness/isolation, I think you may be surprised how a garden/farm can be a magnet to attract people. It's very possible that you will find people who want to volunteer part time just to have something to do outdoors away from the computer. (I don't know where you're located, but I have seen this type of thing in cities here in the USA) I hope this at least gives you some ideas to think about! All the best to you!

I tried joining farmers only for the same reason, but it wasn't helpful lol.

Love hearing your story of how you have came so far from where you started. Just goes to show people that you can do whatever you set your mind to do. Look forward to see what is coming this year on the farm.

Lovely family. Your story gives inspiration to those who are planning to live in rural. We would love to share this with our customers who bought vacant land from us and planning to live away from the city. They will surely get awesome ideas from your videos. Great job!

Everyone acts like it’s easy to start a farm. They always leave out that family land part ......

Starting a farm is hard... I've visited dozens of farms and haven't heard anyone say it was easy. I think a crucial skill for farmers to have is resourcefulness. Whether it's family that owns land, or friends or neighbors; leasing/renting land can be a fantastic way to start getting experience with farming before you are ready to buy your own land. There are so many farmers that start this way and I have heard many say that looking back it was a blessing that they could learn on someone else's land so they don't have to make as many mistakes on their own land.
