It works on iPad and iPhone but not the Mac. Ironic because I develop it in part on my Macbook. Check the links: apps.apple.com/us/developer/thomas-paronis/id1557115556

looks like a great tool but would be much more useful if available on desktop Mac OS

I hear you but the technology used to develop it; Xamarin, only works on iOS, Android and Windows. The "Expand" button on the Fretboard Page makes it much easier to use on an iPhone. When I'm using it to teach myself I generally put my iPad on a music stand.
