One thing to add, instead of bagooska you can go into the link 1 and I:P to link off during your opponent's turn since the link 1 isn't a hard once per turn. That gives you 3 bounces and 3 backrow removal.

Interesting thing about the spells is they deal effect damage, where most LP loss is a cost. I wonder if there are any damage trigger effects that could be used in this deck

Not at all. I play Knightmares instead of both Link Pendulums and it's pretty ok. Sometimes I don't have good Link arrows tho.
