I like the pan and portable shower. That is nice!
@VanLifeVoyages2 жыл бұрын
It is amazing. It is 2 gallons and since it is black, can be set outside to warm by the sun. The sprayer has a bunch of different settings so you can spray off your vehicle or pets. It is expensive though but for us worth it, due to the size and where it fits in the van. It will sit on our back bumper perfectly for showers behind the van between the doors.

Excellent idea with the rolling freezer. Can you modify that table by welding the rod at the bottom up above so he can roll under it and the bar not be in the way of his feet? I love the clothes storage idea.
@VanLifeVoyages9 ай бұрын
We have another table we pull out for eating on that lives behind the fridge/freezer. That table above it, isn't big enough. it's only like 12 inches wide. We recycled a cabinet door & made it into that table. It is actually flip up so isn't in the way, if we flip it down. I just put that leg there for support but it really isn't needed. In reality it is our coffee making area and place we put our phone to record livestreams, etc. We don't eat in the van much so it's better to store a table out of the way and just pull it out as needed. When Derec is with me, we mostly eat outside. Only during storms do we eat inside together. When I am by myself and stealth parking, I do eat dinner inside but don't usually use a table. ~Tanya

😮 I'm giving total props cause you got braunability to work with you. I have spent 6 years trying to find one person that would actually work with me. One person that wouldn't immediately pass me over or pass me on to another person the instant they said they were there to help. It got so bad I was passed around 5 times in one day. I gave up after that last year. I stopped trying. I had to threaten to get a lawyer for them to cease and desist calling and emailing me constantly after that. I don't know how anyone gets them to actually offer help and follow thru. I haven't heard of anyone truthfully. Not til seeing this video. So that's why the props for you.

They were the only ones willing to work with us during the pandemic. Most lift companies shut down as "non-essential" which I call BS on. To us lifts are essential. They were contracted through the VA. I know multiple were contacted & couldn't or wouldn't do it. This wasn't through regular insurance so maybe that's the difference?
@3veningStar9 ай бұрын
Maybe the difference is you were able to use the Va. Thank you for your service. My ww brother passed a year ago. I went to them directly. While I'm 100% disabled I'm in the stage of (19 years passed my injury) having to prove I actually am disabled. Once I mention I can still walk but not for often or for long but I'm needing my chair more and more... They stop giving a flying fudge

Wow. Just wow. My wife is a quadriplegic of 21 yeas and my goal is basically getting something affordable that will serve us for at least 100,000 miles trouble free with minimal maintenance. It feels too me that you guys are like my me and my wife- till death do us apart. We are extremely Bless to have the strength to endure and show many what real love means and what it looks like. I was hunting, praying for a van and they’re so expensive and I have already gone through 2 because of finances and I really wanted to get something longer lasting. For now - @ I’m sure I will bother you again-lol! But for Know all I need is what’s the Entry/Exit height that this van can provide for a wheelchair? My wife’s wheelchair is about 3’8” height and about 28”-30” wide. And how reliable or happy are you with the van? I was just looking at a 2011 Toyota Sienna with 168,000 fully equipped for $18,000 and though the price is great and the Toyota reputation is really good. Weighing the pros and cons- for someone that wants no more than 200,000 miles of reliability and minimum maintenance- I think the Dodge maybe a better deal. Nevertheless I let you guys the way. What would be your advice? Thank you

I love that chair lift. I dream of owning a van that is wheelchair accessible. I have been in a chair my whole life. I dream always of traveling. I had a van but no lift and it was rusted out and a ton of miles on it. needless to say it didn't last. now, on disability, I can't afford another van. I got the first van by pure luck. it was cheap. Good for you to be able to own a good van. Best of luck with it. Motor on. :)

Did the VA put the Braun ability on for you? Did the VA also put in the swivel chair?
@VanLifeVoyages Жыл бұрын
Yes the VA put on the Under Vehicle Lift and the 6 way power seat. They did not cover the hand controls. We paid for those. The VA will do a 1 time vehicle modification with lift & seat, if the disability is NOT service connected. If it is service connected, they will do the lift and power seat in a vehicle every 5 years.

How do you get autoinsurance? Do you get insurance as a camper? Or do you tell them you live in it full time?
@VanLifeVoyages Жыл бұрын
It is insured as a van for the disabled so the lift is included not as a RV. But we have talked about switching it over. Here in California we have to go to the DMV and get it inspected to prove it is self contained with a sink, toilet, & bed since it was originally insured as a commercial vehicle. Our insurance company was able to insure it as a disability van instead of commercial but many cargo vans are under the commercial vehicle label and if you don't have a business it is hard to insure. We do have a business so it's complicated and going to the DMV in California is a hassle!

The new smart drives have a thing in the front so you don't have to do that ANNOYING tap. I was questioned as to why I wanted power assist wheels as opposed to a Smart Drive yesterday...and I think my look said it all. I truly think thy were invented to make you look dumb.
